  6. Re: Just to cheer you up... [ QUOTE ] sorry to hear your story, norm. my heart goes out. but, i thing with a 15% sales tax in canada, and other taxes, the "free" stuff really isn't free. "things that are free, are generally worth it". poor richards almanac [/ QUOTE ] i totally agree with you, it is 15% sales tax, and the "free" stuff is not free, but it is a little easier in a situation like this, when the funds are a little on the tight side, it is well worth in the long run to dish out the 15 cents on the dollar, to have free health care.
  7. Re: Bear spotted Sat 2-5-05 yeah that sure is early. but like the rest of ya's, i sure can believe it, the temps have been in the 40s here. In Canada... In February? all my snow is goin away

  10. Re: WOW!! THAT WAS NEAT!!!!! LOL @ Gary Yeah Martin, that sure does sound good a few weeks ago, i saw some rabbit at the grocery store. i was tempted, but one of my roommate's girlfriend is totally frieked out when it comes to hunting. and when i told her that i was going to bring my pellet gun down to take out one of the rabbits on the lawn she almost killed me herself so anyways, if i would have brought one of those things back to rez, she would have thought i was serious and actually popped off one of the bunnies out on the lawn
  11. Re: Just to cheer you up... wow Norm, sorry to hear about that move up here to Canada, there is free health care up here!! I found it amazing on how much cash you guys have to dish out to taxes and all the other things. up here, we dont even pay NEAR that!! hang in there Norm... you'll pull through it.

  20. Re: Uncooperative sheds very cool pic canuck!!!
  21. Re: 7600 Synthetic i would say it all depends on what kind of terrain you are hunting in. if it is thick heavy brush, the wood gun would get scratched easier. but as AJ says, the synthetic makes a fair amount of noise when stuff brushes up against it. but if you are field hunting, i would get the wood stock. if looks aren't a concern for you, then you could save the bit of money and just get the synthetic. that might just be me, i don't think i would ever own a synthetic gun, i just love the looks of the wood. thats just my preference though good luck on your choice Jim.
  22. sure got a surprise when my deer this past november didnt drop when i shot him at 20 yards with a 300 mag it jumped about 6 feet in the air, landed, stumbled 20 feet or so, then dropped. it was a perfect shot too, right behind the front shoulder. i thought it would have just melted him
