Re: Illinois shed hunters I have been out two times this year, and havent found anything yet. I think I am the worlds worst shed hunter in 3 years of looking if only found one shed, and found another rack of a deer that was hit on the road but made it down to the timber. Any good places to look??

Re: Fletching Color... I have a terrible time seeing my arrows in flight, so this year I used a hot pink wrap and neon yellow feathers on the arrows for Hoyt #1 and american flag wraps with white feathers on the arrows for Hoyt #2. That took care of the visabilty problem

Re: Easton Carbons If you are talking about the facotry vanes Chrud, maybe you have a bad batch, I still have the factory vanes on a dozen of my C2's and I shoot them through with whisker biscut, which is suppost to be tough on vanes. And the gule seems to work just fine

Re: Easton Carbons I shot those arrows this last hunting season and shot them a lot in the yard. Worked well for me and didnt have any problems tuning them at all

In my question for a new 30-06 I have come into a problem. I dont know which one to buy. Im left handed, so I shot a Remington 700, Browning A-bolt, Winchester 70 and a Ruger 77, and they all felt about the same to me. Prices were also pretty close on all of these rifles. I did have a couple people tell me to shot a savage. What does everyone think, what is the best rifle?

Re: Antelope hunting Im going on my first hunt in WY this up coming October, just outside new castle. Does anyone know of any good internet sources with information on these guys. All I know is they have great eye sight and run like the wind. Im left handed, but Im going to borrow my buddies Rh Ruger 25-06. I think it should work fine.

Re: easton acc\'s Matt- from what I have seen they are a smaller dia. Im also thinking about buying a dozen and shooting them. They are extremely straight +/- .001 I think. All of my arrows are crested with the wraps, I have bad eyes, helps me see them and I have never had problems with feathers on them.

Re: Montec g5 I have 2 questions about the monotecs 1. I have heard a lot of people saying they are extremely difficult to sharpen. Has anyone had to put a new edge on one? And how did it work. 2. Being as they are 1 piece, how straight are they, I would think that if they were not as staright as you average arrow, say +/-.006 they wouldnt group well at all. What does everyone think?

Re: BRANDBASHING Thank you VermonyHunter, I understand what ZERO TOLERANCE means. I can understand why there shouldnt be any mention of illegal activites, or personal attacks. But come on, if Im going to bust someones chops because they shot a Hoyt or a Mathews, or they use an API climber and not a Summitt, who the heck cares. Just more rules that arent needed.

Great to see that we no longer can give owners of various items made by rival companies a good natured ribbing. Whats next around here? I hope we are still able to talk about hunting in this place.

Re: Hoyt Hunters I currently shoot 3 differnet hoyts- a 03' Magnatec cam and a half and 04 Supertec with spirals, and a 05 Vtech, Ill never shoot anyother brand of compound.

Re: elephant with bow?? Is it possible yes- However, the only legal place to do this in my knowledge in South Africa at this moment. Reason being is simple- all the hunting done in South Africa is being conducted on game farms where you have already bought the animal. Places such as Tanzinia, and Botswana have a min 375h&h mag calbier restiction on dangerous game. My godfather has taken 9 bulls elephants in Africa ( the biggest having both tusks over 70lbs). He uses either a .460 wby mag or a .500 NE and shots through the ear into the brain, something not possible with a bow. Bottom line is yes it is possible, but more than likey the PH will end up taking a head shot on the bull to take it down.

I made a stupid mistake a couple years ago with holding a allen key in my mouth while sighting in my bow. I had it ripped out of my mouth by my string when I shot and lost part of my tooth. Luckly my uncle who is the local denist was still at work. Also please do use a favor and tell us what kind of arrows he was shooting
