I did the coolest thing today. Guy I met recently in the last few months has been telling me to come check out his deer farm..........I can't even begin to tell you how blown away I was. I was hand feeding 150 inch whitetails. He has a typical that scores 230 and he said on the hoof weighs 330. Got to botttle feed the fawns and check out native and northern species of whitetails. YOU GUYS UP NORTH.........wonder why our deer are so small. Genetics my friends. We put a 160 native oklahoma deer side by side a northern buck and the northern was a full foot taller and longer. I got to bottle feed fawns. Fed one of them 2 bottles that she sucked down in 30 seconds and thought my ear was her next dinner. Funny when you got a fawn licking you in the face like a dog. Saw probably 15 bucks over P&Y mark. 1.5 year olds that were 8 and 10 points already scoring 115...............
Simply I was amazed. I learned alot today about behaviors of deer that you simply don't see in the wild. I'm taking my kids next weekend to play with the doe fawns and bottle feed them.
Atta boy...............I'm good for a doe at least. Only got 5 does last year.
This is big boy I was after last year...........Unfortunately I told the wrong person and he decided to hunt close to my stand. Had 4 opportunites to shoot at him. Closest was 42 yards and just didn't feel comfortable
Here is a pic of the Schaffer rest...................See the 2 screw on top of the prongs. Check to make sure they are tight and that they prongs are equal distance.
BTW I'm guessing this drop away your talking about is a Schaffer. If so does it have the adjustable prongs that hold the arrow. A set screw may have come loose.
Check the bolts on windage and elevation. More than likely it isn't that but best to rule it out. Draw the bow.............the arm should come up in the last 4 to 5 inches of the draw cycle. Make sure that when it comes up it is fully up not just part of the way. Sometimes if the serving above the cord is loose it will ride up causing the arm to not come up all the way. If it is coming up then more than likely I would bet that rest has an internal spring and the spring may have broke.
If you are having problems with some torquing the grip on the bone collector grip get ahold of your dealer and for about $20 you can get a set of sideplates.
For some reason I couldn't get a consistant grip I guess because it is tacky...............anyway went to bare riser and I'm loving it. Sideplates on order now.
See if you have Academy sports nearby.....................
This target in the pic is $20.................This is my 2nd one and I had my first one for 2 years.
Looking good. Finally got the time tonight to get out and shoot. Added my longer stabilizer with more weight to the TH and man it feels good and my groups tightened up.................
Little more addiction food.
Same here. I used to have a 25 foot pull cord on my stand but a few years I bumped up to a 35 rope cause moving up higher I could get away with more, less scent close to the ground, and I have more opening to shoot thru being up higher.
