    Newbie from Illinois

Welcome. You're just up the road from me.
  2. No...at least not to my knowledge.
  3. I've never taken a shower using scent free shampoo/soap. I wear ScentLok clothing most of the time while bowhunting. All other hunting clothing is washed in scentfree detergent. Anytime I head to the woods or blind, I always spray generous amounts of HS Scent-a-way sprays (mostly the non-scented spray) on my clothing, hats, gloves, boots, bow, and other gear before walking in. I will also use the HS scent wafers as cover scents. IMO, it's impossible to eliminate 100% of the human scent that you will have with you in the woods. Using the scent blocking clothing, scentfree detergents, shampoos, soaps, sprays, and cover scents all help to get you as close to that 100% elimination as possible. But nothing can substitute playing the wind and thermals properly.
  4. Why should the rest of us have to pay for someone else's healthcare costs? That's not our problem (and I mean no ill intent to those who've had many medical problems). There is no need to redistribute the wealth to penalize those who have the most of it or to socialize health care or anything else. It's already bad enough that we're paying for the welfare people when many of them could easily go out and get a job and make money to support themselves.
  5. Only 3 days of rain in August for us (totalled less than 2 inches), but through the end of August, we're still about 2 inches over the precip. amount for all of last year. We got some Gustav rain today and are supposed to get more tonight and tomorrow.
  6. My wife went hunting with me last fall while she was 3-4 months along. She even helped me load a medium sized doe in the back of my truck. She did very little of the lifting.
  7. I'm assuming you mean if it's at the taxidermist with this. I've seen many mounts in homes without tags.

    Truck Tires???

Running BFG ATs in 265/70/17 on my F150 Supercrew. Cost a shade over $900 installed about a year ago. Great tire and haven't affected my gas mileage at all. Went through some deep mud during duck season last year and it didn't even struggle and they were throwing mud everywhere. I'll put em on my truck again in a heartbeat.

    Dish network!!!!!

Love my Dish Network and have never received a call from them nor had any problems. We don't even get calls from telemarketers either.
  10. I've shot Lightfields, Rem Copper Solids, and Rem Buckhammers through my 870 slug barrel all with similar accuracy. I tried the Hornady's and could not get any consistency with them.

    opening day

Dove season started today for us. Another month until bow season.
  12. Mach1 27 Illinois Oct. 1 - Jan. 18 ->archery 10/1-1/15 (excluding firearm seasons) ->firearm 11/21-23 & 12/4-7 ->ML only 12/12-14 ->late season firearm 1/16-18
  13. I'd say you're correct. Here's a pic of one...
  14. It's an insect. Probably from the bee & wasp family.
  15. That's how I decide on whether to take out the slug gun or the ML during firearms season. Field edge hunt, I go with the ML. Back in the woods, slug gun.
  16. Nice gun. Wish it went to 3 1/2" and I might be interested. Somebody's going to get a good gun.
  17. Marathon Seat Covers -> http://www.marathonseatcovers.com/ I've got them in Max-4 for my F150 Supercrew. I think for both full front and full back seats I got them for around $450 (pricing depends on vehicle model). Great product. Excellent customer service as a representative called the day after the order was placed to confirm the order because the seat covers are not made until they are ordered. Easy to install. Looks great. Very durable. My brother also has them in Hardwoods Green for his Ford Ranger. JMO, but if you go cheap, you'll get cheap results and will be unhappy in the long run. Like is always said, you get what you pay for.
  18. The start of football season. It means bow season is just a month away.

    Seat Belts

I'd be lieing if I said I wore mine all the time. I wear it pretty much everywhere except when I'm at my parents'. I do not feel the state should tell me I have to wear one, especially when helmets aren't required for motorcyclists.
  20. I hear ya. As someone who is paid at the county level through state grants, we're feeling it too. We're probably not getting our raise and may have to cut back our work hours because of the lack of money available to our department. That not only hurts our pockets, but hurts the clients that we deal with because of less available times for them to come in for appointments.
  21. We can't get this clown out of office fast enough. We may not have any state run facilities open by the time he's done.
