  1. The buck my brother shot this year was shot with the 3-blade model. Tremendous blood trail and hole.
  2. My brother found a spike earlier this week. Last weekend I saw three bucks together, two still toting both sides and the other with both sides lost. Also saw a half-rack in the same area.
  3. Grew up in Martinsville. Have lived in Edwardsville. Quite a few villes around here.
  4. I've used the RT900 for a couple years now and haven't had any problems not seeing what I'm shooting at.

    The Bacon Explosion

A slice of that with egg and cheese on a biscuit would be excellent.
  6. Here's the 2006 governor's race results. Obviously blue is Dem and red is Rep. From the map, it's fairly obvious where the big population centers are and how Blago was elected. And also, I didn't realize so many in the rural southern areas voted for this clown. flyera-From my time living and going to school in the metroeast and with my in-laws living there, I knew the area was primarily Dem., but like you mentioned, I didn't know many who like/liked the guy. I'm sure everyone but a select few in our state are glad this guy is out of office.
  7. Chicago and the collar counties and the metroeast St. Louis area elected him. the majority of the rest of the state was smart enough to not vote for him either time. And yes, the guy has issues.
  8. It does suck that one small area of our state can control the whole thing.
  9. Our corrupt Chicago Democrat governor is now officially out. Impeached by the Senate by a 59-0 vote. Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn assume the head spot. Hopefully it will be good for our DNR as he had been for reopening the state parks and historic sites that Blago closed in the fall. Also, hopefully he'll get rid of the DNR headman that Blago recently appointed who had no background in natural resources. :D:D:D

    IL Deer Classic

It's the St. Louis Deer Classic & Outdoor Expo and it's Feb 13-15 according to this... http://www.amdeerclassics.com/shows/st-louis/ I will probably not attend. My dad and brother went a couple years back and were not impressed.
  11. That's how we have ours setup. It was by choice for us. Two less things we have to worry about paying on time.
  12. My brother got one of those for Christmas and he got it to fit on the steering wheel of his F150.
  13. Fred comes to Illinois and hunts with a friend of my family in my hometown. My brother met him one year and said he's the same in person as he is on camera. Should be a good time.
  14. I don't know why you would own a house and not have homeowner's insurance, even if it is the minimum coverage. Same with owning a car and not having auto insurance.

    Vehicle Payment

We pay $450/month for my F150, but that's more than what the payment is supposed to be and we plan on getting it paid off 9-12 months sooner than the loan life. My wife's car is paid off and she paid more than the payment and had it paid off about 9 months early.
  16. Looks like we finished with around 10 inches of snow. It was deep enough that the undercarriage of my wife's car was scraping the snow.
  17. Really wanting to get my 75-300mm lens out for our Canon Rebel XS. Haven't had a chance to use it outside yet. Been stuck inside using the 18-55mm standard lens so far. The zoom difference is amazing and I too need to get a tripod for the long zooming.
  18. Had about 4 here last night. Had light sleet most of today and supposed to get up to 5 inches more snow tonight.
  19. We got our first significant snow last night. We received 2-3 inches. I'd love to have some more.
  20. We recently picked up a Canon Digital Rebel XS 10.1 mp DSLR with 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm telephoto lens at Best Buy in a combo. I too was wondering about filters because I've heard from some guys that take a ton of pictures that I should get one.
  21. My brother has a Handi-Rifle in 22-250 that shoots very well. He uses it for coyotes only because we can't use rifles for other hunting around here. I was tempted to get one in .223, but have to decided to get a Remington 700 in .270 instead for more usefullness if I ever go out west to hunt.
  22. I've got 2 Ganders closer to where I live than a BPS or Cabela's. I used to work at a Gander as well, and did the majority of my shopping there because of the discount I received. I recently ordered a backpack from Eders because with tax and shipping I could get still get it less than the purchase price from Cabela's. I don't really have a preference of any of the three. Before I buy something, I generally check all three and other sources before I buy.
