Re: Non Oklahoma Bowhunters..... Well Gator i know this is supposed to be for the non oklahoma guys but i thought you might want to have this anyway. This is the entry wound on the doe i shot oct. 3rd with and illegal in oklahoma 85 grain slick trick. Her leg was slightly back so you can see where it cut all the muscle in her leg on the way in and the big hole it made in her ribcage. The farthest back wound is the second shot i put on her b/c i didnt feel she was dieing fast enough and she had only gone 30 yards and i could still see her struggling a little bit.

Re: First deer of the year... Well here she is in all her glory... lol. Since i failed to mention it earlier i was hunting just north of stroud on a friends land. The shot was 15 yards, and she weighed 86 pounds dressed. P.S. If anybody would like to see the entry wound from this deer go to the pinned post at the top of this forum that was made by gator.

Re: First deer of the year... Thanx everybody! GW - I have figured out how to do it i just have to get it done now. We are going to have to send them through blue tooth to my other buddies phone and then he can send them to my email cause he has that capability. So hopefully by tonight i will have them up.

Well i smoked a doe at 8:00 am today. It was my first time in a stand this season so i am pretty pumped. Last year was my first deerless season every, so i am deff excited about starting off this way. Pretty much the story goes that i was actually watching 4 does in a field corner about 200 yards away when i heard something off to my left. I turn to the left and standing directly down wind of me is a doe. So i slowly stand up and take my bow off the hanger. She continues to walk towards me and two more does are behind her. The third one is the biggest and she turned slightly quartering towards me. I drew back and just as i anchored she stuck her nose up like she caught a little bit of my scent... but it was too late. I touched off the release and the rest was history. She only went about 35 yards. I am so happy to start the season off this well after last year, and i really hope my good luck carries over to my hunts in nw oklahoma for the rest of the season(my first year to hunt out there) and my trip to Wyoming here at the end of the month. **Pics will be up shortly as soon i can figure out how to get them off my roommate's phone onto the computer** Colin

Re: 3 days before the season and I....( pics) Well for those of us that have had the pleasure to shoot with Tony we all know he isnt trying to fool anybody. I think what he meant is that after getting all his pins dialed in with field points he then started shooting those distances with broadheads and this was the first shot he took once he got back to 60. Good shootin brother...

Re: Earned a new Idiot mark last night Dang Brad... maybe the blood you already put on the ground there will be a good omen. Glad your ok though.

Re: Vanetec vanes? I am shooting 3 inch vanetech's this year and i like them alot. They are only a minor amount heavier than the blazers i was shooting. These vanes are super stiff and durrable. I really like them alot and my arrows are flying good. My roommate and his dad both shoot them on their finger bows with helical to great success, and my boss shoots them out of his bow too. I dont think you would be dissappointed, but they deff seem to be a little bit thicker so you may have a problem with your jig.

Re: how do you like your steak? As long as i can still rope it.... ill eat it.

Hey guys, my roommate just got back from his muley hunt in Wyoming this last sunday. We just got around to uploading his photo's today though. This is his first muley he has taken with a bow. He shot this deer September 6th around noon. He shot this buck at 22 yards after a 3 hour stalk. It grosses 194" and netted 184". It wont be officially scored until after the 60 day drying period though. He was using his max-4 bowtech allegiance(crackerized), carbon express maxima's fletched with blazers, 85 grain g5 montecs, carter release, and realtree's advantage max-1 camo.

Re: Wyoming Elk Rut On? My roomate just got back from Southeastern Wyo. around the Laramie Mountain Range and he said that around the 10th they got a little cold spell that excited them a little, but other then that they weren't that hot.

Re: Broadhead tuning problems. why do we change? Tony I dont really know if this is valid or not, but maybe with the really light blazers on the back with no wrap or anything the 100 grain over the 75 you used to shoot is making your foc to far forward??? I dont really know too much about your arrow length or anything like that but it could be an idea.
