hey guys i have a quick question to ask, but first to make a long story short.... my family is currently in a land dispute with a developer. there is a fence that is not in the proper place but has been there for a very long time. in oklahoma if you own the property for 15 years and the fence has been there, you legally own the land by adverse possesion. my family has owned the property for 23 years, and the fence has been there even longer. well this developer decided to cut down our fence and clear where the fence is supposed to be. so he has been brushogging and cutting down trees on our property. well this jerk intentionally tore down one of my home made treestands that my dad built me my first year of deer hunting when i was 11 with his front end loader on his tractor, and where he has been clearing is about 15 yards south of my absolute favorite treestand. we are currently throwing a lawsuit at the developer and our lawyer has asked that i get an estimate from somebody notable for a succesful deer hunt in oklahoma. so what i need is for somebody to write up a reasonable estimate for a succesful deer hunt and mail it to me so we can include it in our damages amount. if any of you guys are willing to do this for me and include a company card with it, i would not be able to thank you enough. thank you in advance for anybody willing to help, you can pm me for my adress. THANKS!!!

Re: Good All around shotgun i have a remington 870 super mag 3 1/2" and a mossberg 835 ulti mag 3 1/2" and i love them both. kinda like the ulti mag more b/c it has ported barrels. both of those guns are in your price range, and the new mossberg 935 auto loader in synthetic black should be in your range also.

Re: hunting elk with the .270 i would just stick to a 130 grain. that is the bullet a 270 was designed to shoot and as long as you put it in the vitals, its gonna do the trick just fine. i know people that have killed elk with a 243 no problem.

Re: .17hmr you can kill just about anythign with a 17. put that bullet right between the ear and eye and they shouldnt go far. i dunno about shooting coyotes behind the shoulder with it, the will probably run off and die eventually but i would stick to head shots on them.

Re: Already time for a new pistol!! Springfield XD... you can find them in 9mm, 40 s&w, 357 sig, and 45 gap. we sell them for $429 at my store. every bit as good as a glock and some people say even better. If you dont like polymer framed guns, we also sell some magnum research baby desert eagles in 40 s&w for around $400.

Re: Need to Buy First Deer Rifle 25-06... its fast, accurate, has a flat trajectory, plenty to kill any deer you will ever see, and wont completely blow the mess out of a coyote.

Re: Snowboarders? go to www.the-house.com you can get really good deals on boards there. thats where i buy all my boards. i am currently riding a nitro with technine bindings and 32 boots.

Well i totally pulled a big bonehead move. i was so excited that i finally got two days in a row off work to where my buddy and i could go to his farm and go hunting that i completely forgot about my test that was due for my online class. i figured up my grades and even if i make a 100 on my last two tests i still cant make above a D. i emailed my teacher and explained to her the situation how i have been swamped with school and work, both are full time, and how it was just a honest mistake and wondering if there was any way to make it up. i also said i understand if there isnt b/c i know it is my responsibility to keep up with the classwork and tests. now im just stuck with this sick feeling in my stomach b/c this is a class i was doing really well in. p.s. i totally left out that i went hunting, just incase she is an anti

Re: NEW HOYT!! ITS PRETTY!!! yes it is short and yes it has parallel limbs but.... it has split limbs, cam 1/2, alpha shox, a new string leech design, tec riser, pro fit grip, and apparently a new in-riser navcom material vibration dampener. Doesnt look like any switchback or allegience that i have seen. I like it alot, but i promised myself i wouldnt by another bow for atleast 2 more years after i got my vipertec this year!

Re: Bloated Deer! CRAZY! that is freakin weird man! i dunno i guess it could be possible. if you look close the deer was shot right behind that shoulder and there is another wound on its belly right where the white and brown meet. i think its probably just some kind of disease though... that is if its real.

Re: Tikka?? i do not own one and have not shot one but i can tell you this much... all the barrels on the tikka's are match grade. tikka is made by sako and they have the same barrels as the sako's. i was talking to the berreta rep yesterday at our store(tikka and sako are owned by beretta) and he was telling me that once the gun is built it is test fired, and if it doesnt put a 5 shot group less than an inch at 100 yards they throw it away. they dont try and work on it to fix it, just melt it down. so if you are worried about accuracy, it shouldnt be a problem at all.

Well through the help of one of my managers at work i have decided to get into waterfowl hunting. i havent ever really done much other than some pass shooting on my room mates pond. so my manager has been teaching me a lil bit about blowing duck and goose calls and today i decided to get some. For my first duck call i went with a hs specialties single reed bill collector, and for my goose call i got a tim grounds acrylic super mag. i wanted to get a double reed duck call b/c they are easier to learn with, but my manager showed me how much more variances you can put into your calling with a single as compared to a double, so i decided to take his advice and just go ahead with the single. as far as the goose call goes i know its kinda crazy for a first call, but it just sounds too good. i was planning on just getting the poly carb version of the super mag, but then i picked up the acrylic and there is just no comparison. ive got a few duck hunting places lined up, now my manager and i just need to find some time to go scout some fields for geese. he is from iowa and just recently moved here, so he doesnt know anywhere to hunt, and with me being new to the whole thing it doesnt help too much either. i know a couple farmers out in the okarche/piedmont area, but dont know if that is a good place to start looking. so if any of you fellow okies can maybe give me an idea for where to start looking, even public land, that would be great. thanks a ton guys!

Re: Blazer vanes vs. normal 4 inch vanes i shoot the blazers, and i shoot them through a whisker biscuit, and i have absolutely no problems at all. in fact they are the best vanes i have ever shot through the whisker biscuit b/c they are tough. i used to lose a vane almost every time i went out and shot and havent lost a single one in the last month since i changed to blazers. i dont have wraps on my arrows either. i also shoot 85 grain slick trick 4 blade broadheads with my blazers fletched straight and they shoot right on with my field tips all the way out to 60 yards. so as long as your bow is well tuned, you shouldnt have any problems with broadhead flight.

Anybody else try to hunt this evening??? i say try b/c i did, and i only lasted about 30 minutes once the cold front hit. THAT WIND WAS BLOWIN GUYS!!! i had to get down because i didnt feel safe anymore. the tree i was hunting from isnt very big and that wind sure was blowin it around. I was tryin to hang through it and thought i might get rewarded, but when the wind blew my hat off and my face mask was blowin all over my face, i decided to go ahead and just get down. this happen to anybody else tonight?

Re: Pressure\'s off.....WAY OFF! congrats man! here you have two deer down already and i havent set foot in the woods yet b/c of work. LUCKY!

Re: Blazers and Fixed Heads gowest.... your arrows were probably a little under spined with the 125 grain heads. by switching to a 100 grain head you stiffened your shaft. that is probably why they are flying better now. im shooting my slick tricks with straight fletched blazers and i love it.

Re: OKC Sportsmans Warehouse hmmm... was it the store manager or the hunting department manager??? i dont know the store manager very well but both the hunting and assistant hunting managers seem like great guys. im sorry you had a bad experiece.

Hey guys ive been real busy with work and school lately but i just wanted to let everybody in the okc area know that the new sportsmans warehouse is officially open. its located on memorial road just west of penn ave. we opened for a few hours wed evening and today was our first full day open. so far its going great! everybody that has come in is giving alot of positive feed back. i had really forgotten how much fun guns were since i havent even hunted with one in three years, other than dove hunting(darn bows ), but getting to play with them all day has reminded me. ive already got my eye on a few. hope to see everybody in soon. colin

well i got my new slick tricks in the mail today, and pretty much all i can say is WOW! i sanded a little bit off the end of my axis' with the little stone they give you and then screwed the heads on. checked them for wobble, none. took them outside and after the first shot decided i should deff pull each arrow b4 i shoot the next becaues they were dead on. i am shooting them on easton axis 400's with straight fletched blazers and they are 85 grains. they did make a lil noise but no more than any fixed blade head i have ever shot. i would deff recomend these to anybody.

Re: Slick Trick 100gr i have some in the mail on the way in 85 grain. im pretty excited about getting to test them out.
