Well, after first shotgun season here was me and my family's results. Total we killed 6 deer. I killed one good sized 9 pointer, my one uncle killed good 8, my other uncle killed another good 9. Then we killed three does. I will get pics up as soon as I can. Thanks y'all! Lemme know how you did too when y'all get a chance.

You'd be better off having someone drive you in, dropping you off. . . and having you walk in while the 4-wheeler is still running and driving off. . .

Well obviously, don't miss. . . don't fall outta the treestand . . . and don't let anyone smoke aroudn your stands. Haha. As for antlers, pretty much we don't shoot the little bucks. . .in order to let them grow more for next year. However, when it gets down to the last day or two of whatever season(s) the tags are for we pretty much shoot anything for meat (spikes, buttons, etc.) Usually also, we will ALL shoot the first nice doe that walks in front of us simply for meat before sport. Basically just not a doe that looks like she lost her spots yesterday, y'know.

dunno what to tell ya bud! we've had a couple of them before. . . one with a shotgun. we tracked him for a good 3/4 -1 mile all the way to a gully on the neighbors property and the trail just suddenly stopped and we never did fine 'em.

Y'know y'all, I've been out bow hunting a couple times this year already and am going again on Nov. 2 weekend, but for whatever reason, I am so anxious and have got the jitters ready for shotgun season. I've never really been this bad before, and I've been going all my life. Normally I'm excited, but this year is horrible. . .I think about it every night before I go to sleep, my stomachs got butterflies. Aha. I just cannot WAIT to get back in that timber with a shotgun. I think I've got WHITETAIL fever!!! So how y'all done so far this year?

aha, i think he was from the cosmetics section, not from clothes. lol. and aight, i'll just go back out there a different day or run up and check at Dicks. i'm not gonna be able to go again 'till Nov. 2 weekend anyway. thanks y'all!

Kinda to add to what Mich. Bow Hunt. said, the nearest bathroom was about 1 MILE away, and i went out and bought a new pair of gloves the next day. haha.

i have no clue. i wouldn't have thought it would of changed that much over the course of one year. i checked IDNR's website and it said at local liscensed outfitters. . .but this idiot was trying to tell me i had to apply for a bow tag back in the spring, and that there were "late tags" available now but he didn't know where but he thought they were expensive. i know ya buy em over the counter, i just cant figure out where. haha.

i have a really stupid question for all y'all illinois bowhunters, or out-a-staters if you know it too. where on EARTH can you get bow tags at in illinois? i haven't bow hunted in over a year, and we used to be able to get 'em at Walmart and Ace hardware all the time, and the idiot worker at walmart yesterday said walmart never has sold bow tags. i know this isn't true, so i'd guess he's just stupid and didn't know. thanks for the help!!! greg

Got 2 good sized Illinois does this weekend. I'll post pics when I get 'em done. Still got 2 either sex permits for shotgun and one more either sex for mussleloader.
