  1. when are the teams going to be assigned? Or have they already, and i'm just looking in the wrong spot?
  2. Re: 20 gauge choke tube quest. thanks again everybody. I tried 6 and 4 and the 6 was better but not good. I'm going to look at the hastings. you saved me some time and worry, appreciate it.
  3. Re: 1st Bobcat!!! I'll post a pic when I get them. Didn't bring the digital so it will be a little while
  4. Went coyote hunting today but had a slow day due to the wind. Set up in a deep canyon where it was calm and called for about 20-30 minutes. Just as I was getting ready to leave some pheasants flushed about 250-300 tards out. That usually means a dogs coming so I fired up the call again and waited. About 5 minutes later there she was 178 yds out. Let her have it in the chest and she just laid down. Sure glad I bought that 22-250. No exit hole, perfect pelt. Off to the taxidermist tomorrow.
  5. Re: Wash Hunters Camoking, I'll send you a private message so check your in box. Always looking for a new hunting partner. We've got something in common, my wife is from Shirley mass, and my best friend is from Waltham. Go patriots.
  6. Re: 20 gauge choke tube quest. thanks much!!!
  7. around spokane no. but straight north of here in the sekirks i've seen them. Le Clerc Creek drainage around north and south baldy, and Cee Cee Ah Mountain have them. pretty thick area though just cruise the logging roads. Some times i've seen tons and sometimes none at all. go during grouse season and that way you'll be able to hunt both and double your chances. those roads may not even be passable right now, but with the warm weather who knows.
  8. Re: LOOKY Here! .243 You Chose??? Hey camoking! I just realized were neighbors! What do you chase and where? we might be going to the same places. saw an earlier post you had about rabbits, i know where you can go but it's a real hit & miss deal. sometimes there thick as dog hair, sometimes you don't see any. Send me a private message, maybe we can go put some yotes to sleep.
  9. Re: LOOKY Here! .243 You Chose??? Well said huntin girl. I bought my skinny little 11 year old girl a .260 and she shoots it well. It gives me a bit more confidence too. .243 is a proven cartridge, however i feel that there are much better choices to be had.
  10. Re: Wash Hunters It would be nice, but impossible at this point. I'm self employed and can't really travel. the business is growing so who knows what the future holds? The first trip will be for pronghorn! Thanks anyways.
  11. I bought my daughter a 20 gauge rem 870 youth shotgun and an undertaker choke. I'm not too satisfied with the pattern though. using 3 inch turkey loads at 30 yards there are only a few lethal pellets. Is this as good as it gets with a 20 gauge? Or are there better choke tubes to try? Should I use 3 inch loads or would 2 3/4 pattern better? Thanks in advance.
  12. having a little difficulty nailing down the perfect coyote load. looking to shoot a light frangible bullet that will disintigrate completly and not exit. so far i've been unsuccesfull. have any suggestions?
  13. Re: LOOKY Here! .243 You Chose??? Why so enamored with a .243? Gunwriters everywhere as well as even bullet makers list it as marginal for deer. Why not .257 roberts, 25-06, .260, .270, 7mm-08. There are so many other great calibers to choose from that would not only do the trick but do it better. If you handload there are all sorts of varint style bullets you can use. I know that there will be some ruffled feathers, and that is not my intent. Just believe that since there are better choices for the same price even, why go so small.
  14. Re: how\'s the coyote huntin sofar 65 holy cow! you mean business. i've only got 4 in 4 trips and was happy with that. thanks for bursting my bubble. the weather has been bad for yotes this year, but it's better to have a slow day hunting than have a boring day on the couch. have got any good coats yet. having a mange problem. took one that looked silver in the sun (absolutely gorgeous) the coat was very thick and nice but mange had started on the tail. NASTY!
  15. hows the coyote hunting for you so far in 05? been slow but steady for me. waiting for some snow. rabbits arent working but fawn in distress are bringing them in. 4 down 4,000,000 to go!
