Re: Can you believe this Around here there is a nursury for plants. It is all shrubs and mulch and stuff like that. The deer come out all day and night and sit there and eat his mulch and shrubs. The guy has the Damage Control Permits. We go there and try to find a deer, but they just know we are there.. LOL

What roles do hunters play in wildlife mngmt/conse

Re: What roles do hunters play in wildlife mngmt/c Don't forget the NWTF... -
Re: Can you believe this Are the deer causing damage to the property? If they are, see if your state has Deer Damage Control Permits. This way, you can shoot the deer year round with no bag limit or until the damage is controlled good enough. The only bad part is that barely any butchers are open this time of the year and not everybody processes their own deer. Good Luck with the new hunting spot...

What roles do hunters play in wildlife mngmt/conse

Re: What roles do hunters play in wildlife mngmt/conse Also note that anti hunters contribute zero to conservation. note that under #2. Ever see the commercial with the elks and turkeys and deer? It starts talking about conservation. It said something like, "The reason why there is 100,000,000 times more wild turkeys in the US today than back in 1918, is becuase of conservation." Something like that. I forgot the stats. -

Squirrelhunter91 replied to Squirrelhunter91's topic in Varmint & Predator Hunting
Re: .308 for coyotes and varmint? Yeah. Very sure. I have seen them. But like I said, no one will shoot anything that won't bring them meat. But if its a slow day or opening morning, and if one wanders by.... nuff said. NO ONE PREDATOR HUNTS AROUND HERE -

Re: Now I\'m legal in NY Yup. Just the Catskill region pretty much. They are aiming for the whole state but the Catskill region has produced bucks with the smallest antler mass out of the whole state.. I say, let us feed them and put them on the juice. Let's make the deer hit 73 homeruns... LOL.. I live in 3R. I hunt in 3R and 3H and some of 3J. All three are under antler restrictions now... well if it all goes through. But I am a junior hunter and junior hunters are exempt from the Antler Restrictions for their first deer. After the first deer, you have to shoot like everyone else..

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods. "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7 foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing in on him. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out: "Oh my God!..." Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent. As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky:"You deny my existence for all of these years, teach others I don't exist, and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?" The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps could you make the BEAR a Christian?" "Very well," said the voice. The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And then the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together and bowed his head and spoke:"Lord, bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ, our Lord. Amen."

IF YOU LOOK AT THIS PICTURE LONG ENOUGH, YOU WILL SEE A GIRAFFE. ABOUT 15 SECONDS SHOULD DO IT.

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex was staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. It was covered with names and small American flags were mounted on either side of it. The seven year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly, "Good morning, Alex." "Good morning, Pastor," replied the young man, still focused on the plaque. "Pastor, what is this?" "Well son, it's a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service." Soberly, they stood together, staring at the large plaque. Little Alex's voice was barely audible, trembling with fear, when he asked, "Which service, the 9:45 or the 11:15?"

300 yards is really far... Can you sneak in any closer? Maybe try and narrow it down to 100 yards? Is across the road a normal route that these birds take? If it is, calling him across shouldn't be a problem, but you still have to compete with the visible hens.

.308 for coyotes and varmint?
Squirrelhunter91 replied to Squirrelhunter91's topic in Varmint & Predator Hunting
Re: .308 for coyotes and varmint? Not the bobcats and foxes in our area. Our bobcats are hitting 50-60 lbs and our foxes 30 lbs. No one predator hunts up there. No one wants to shoot anything that won't bring them meat. But I'm sure if it is a slow day on the deer stand and someone see's yotes wandering by, by all means go for it. My dad's friend wounded two with his 25-06 on opening day of deer season last November.. -
