  1. I've got a couple, but my favorite stand is my Chippewa Wedge Lock Chief! It is light, hangs in a minute and is quite and durable! I accidentaly ran over it with my car once and it still works with no problems!
  2. My dad has a big buck that he shot in 1980, the mount is looking pretty ruff now after 28 years and all us boys offered to pay to have it remounted. He pretty much took it as a personal insult, and he is very firm that if we had it remounted, that it would be a completely different deer than the one he killed! He said we could have it remounted AFTER he died! You might just want to ask your father what he thinks.
  3. Nice finds buddy. I've yet to get out.
  4. Big doe bow kill from November 10th, 2007 A nice shotgun double on a couple big does
  5. Turned out nice! Good job. I've done several euro mounts now and I love the way they look.
  6. Great pictures everyone. Here are a few pictures of who I hunt with the most. Picture of myself and buddy Eric after a November bow hunt The crew (from left to right) Myself, Trevor, Dad and Jay
  7. 10-4.....it just doesn't seem that deep of a discussion to me is all. 2 Timothy 3:16 says that "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness." It just seems like if you believe the above scripture, then things get simpler after that. If you believe the above scripture, then you will believe that under inspiration by God Matthew penned the scripture at Matthew 24:13 that says in part that you will "have to endure until the end" to be saved. In connecting the dots....I don't see why a deep theological discussion would be required? I can see however that I've completely strayed from the original intent of this topic....sorry Andrea.
  8. I will put it in a broader question....how can ANYONE be "saved" when they have not endured (as a faithful follower of Christ) until the end of their earthly life?
  9. I guess I overcomplicated the question with the racing analogy. Plain and simple is how can he be "saved" if he has not endured until the end?
  10. Great pics. I really like the one of the buck silhouette with the orange background.
  11. How can he be saved? Jesus himself said at Matthew 24:13 that is would be "he that has endured until the end will be saved." Is it through Christ ransom that we can be saved? I believe absolutely. But he said you would "have to endure until the end." The end of what? If I was in a one mile race and I had the fastest time for the first quarter mile and then never finished the race, would I have accomplished anything?
  12. I live in central IL, about 30 minutes southeast of Springfield.
  13. I have seen deer....not as black as that first picture, but more of a chocolate color like the second....it was dark enough that it did not have the white throat patch and no white around it's eyes. Believe me....I would have loved a shot at it.
  14. I originally thought that was a really big doe in that picture, but upon further review, and with a few other pictures I determined that that is actually a buck that has shed his rack.
  15. I saw this buck out in a field with about 30 other deer one night last week. I went back out the next evening hoping to see him again and get a photo or two and he cooperated nicely.
  16. Congrats! Those look great and it looks like you had a great season!
  17. Thanks folks. I will let you know how it turned out.
  18. I've been trying my hand at euro mounts for the last 3 years or so, and I feel that they look so much better now than the first couple that I did. I've been looking at the first two I did hanging on my wall (a couple nice archery 8 point kills of my own) and now I'm a little dissatisfied with them. My question is: Can I take these from two and three years ago and try to make them whiter with the Magnesium Carbonate and Hydrogen Peroxide 40 mixture that I am using now?
  19. Here are the four euro mounts I did this season. Got an opportunity to get a picture of all of the heads and the hunters together for one picture. (left to right: Dave 8 point muzzleloader, Eric 9 point archery, Trevor 8 point shotgun, Dad 8 point shotgun.)

Nice buck. Congratulations. Nice pictures as well.
  21. Glad you're seeing them! We sure haven't been. I had 3 does come by me on December 31st in the afternoon and I MISSED a doe broadside at 15 yards!!!! Don't ask me how...I just did!
  22. I've been doing euro mounts as a hobby the last couple years and I feel they are finally starting to turn out nice. Here are a couple I did from this year. My buddy Eric (bowin_in_illinois) November 1st, bow kill. This is one I just finished for my dad. November 16th shotgun kill.
