My wife has a mechanical engineering degree. She graduated from a smaller, private school (Valparaiso University) and got a TON of hands-on experience. They have a big shop with CNC machines, lathes, welders, all kind of fabrication stuff. They did stuff a lot of other college students read about. Served her very well. She worked for a company that paid for her to get her MBA. She did that before we had kids. Now she has worked in aerospace, automotive, and currently orthopedic devices. Hips, shoulders, knees and toes. (OK, not toes, but if you want to sing it, you need one more thing in there.) She is a pricing manager making a great living. I love to brag on my bride. She's the bomb. HB

We have gotten over 38" since last Friday. Gotta love lake effect snow. I walk out to the mailbox to get the paper or mail barefoot in the snow all the time. It's not more than 35-40 feet out to the box, though. Crocs would be an improvement over that, I guess. Good thinking, bud! HB

Any wood questions you have should be resolved by visiting Arborsite. Those guys are pros. Dry wood burns hotter and cleaner. There are pics of wood stacks like that over there, but called something different. HB

We have 401's and Roth IRA's and my state retirement plan, all of which are stock plans. Plus my wife earns shares of her company as bonuses and options and such. The market is a good investment, if you are in for the long run and don't anticipate needing to make withdrawals in the short term. Right now most everything is down, so your money buys more shares per dollar and will grow that much more quickly when the market gets back up to speed. I don't micro manage or day trade or anything. Select moderate risk funds and ride out the hiccups. The last half of last year my state fund grew by over 11%. HB

The guys are right, it is not a law that the shipper must be an FFL, but some FFL's just won't take receipt if it's not sent from an FFL as a matter of policy. Check ahead of time with the receiving FFL. HB
