  1. Lots of rain today, but no frost here. It usually doesn't frost here until mid-Oct with a hard freeze coming around the 1st of November.
  2. That's awesome Gator. Mine are 21 BBH. The 21 is my birthday, BBH stands for big buck hunter.
  3. Congrats on a great buck Leo!!!
  4. +1 on the one more year and he would be a total booner and 3.5 years old. I'd put him at mid-high 150s.
  5. Sounds awesome aujack. Dad and I went out yesterday to put up a stand. We set it up right on a trail through a brushy area that goes right by a pond, to a natural funnel up to a food source. It's in a good spot, has good cover. I'm just not sure if it will be a good morning and evening stand or just an evening stand. We have to walk by a corn field to get to it, but I think they are feeding somewhere else, and just bedding there and staging there before they move out. I think I will try it Oct. 2nd, the first morning I can hunt, and see what happens. This is the property where that giant I mentioned earlier is hanging out.
  6. I'd put him at 2.5 years old as well. He just doesn't have any of the defining characteristics of a 3.5 yr. old buck like belly starting to sag and his face starting to broaden out.
  7. Those are some awesome pics man! Looks like it was beautiful all the way up to Portland. Hope you are havin a good time and have a safe trip home buddy!!!
  8. Man, keep stirring the pot like this and you won't be here long. Michael is nothing like Jackie Bushman. He doesn't self-promote himself, he hunts fair game, not in Mexico where most hunting is on high fence ranches. Michael has worked his way from the bottom to the top of the hunting industry and has earned everything he has gotten. The reason RT found him was at a turkey calling contest. He has worked hard for everything and many people in the hunting industry look up to him, myself included. Heck he is ethical, a great shot, and most importantly he stresses family above everything. How many other shows do you see where the guys take their family out hunting with them?? Or do things like what Michael did with Little Michael Halisack(sp?) on Roadtrips Vol 1 or 2, I can't remember??? Kudos to you Michael, you have earned your day in the sun:cool:
  9. Good luck aujack!!! Put some brown on the ground for Team Bambie's Nightmare!!!!! My season doesn't start until 3 weeks from today.
  10. I can see your point during a December or January hunt, but during October and early November, that doe is not carrying a fawn. I try to kill my doe as early as possible during bow season. Another point that I will bring up is that you know that that yearling buck is there, and has potential to grow into a monster. That doe could be carrying twin or triplet doe fawns, so if you shoot her, you are simply helping manage the deer herd by eliminating 2 or 3 more does. Also, that yearling buck that you see and pass has a lot better potential to survive than a buck fawn that a doe MIGHT be carrying because the yearling has survived one winter already, and has begun to learn the ways of the wild and how to survive. JMO;)
  11. It's good to see you joined up here Ky. Welcome!
  12. Copperhead Road: Steve Earle Here's mine: Now I know how Paycheck felt when he told his boss he can take his job and shove it And I've had the girl that made me say 'I like it, I love it, I want some more of it' And I'll always remember just where I was when the world stopped turnin'
  13. About the South, Rodney Atkins
  14. Well, we're hopefully gonna get some stands on that new property. We walked it Sunday and found a couple spots to put a stand and saw some good sign. I hope we can get out this weekend and get some stands up then stay outta there till deer season. Season opens Oct. 1, I will be in school the 1st, but the morning of Oct 2nd I will be in the stand.
  15. Pshh, Casey that's already a 5 yr old. We all know Indiana deer don't get big!!! :clown: J/K man, he looks like he'll grow into a dandy in a couple of years.
  16. Does the sound change during a show or on commercials? I know that is one thing that makes me mad.. I will have the volume set where I want it for the show and a commercial comes on and I'm blasted outta the living room. If that's not the case I'd try what William said. That's the only suggestion I have other than you are sitting on the remote and changing the sound that way:clown:
  17. All right, we got a name. Who can do a signature. aujack, you said your dad could do some cool stuff didn't you? Would he be willing to hook us up with a sweet signature? I am worthless when it comes to stuff like that. LOL :clown:
  18. That's awesome Dakota!!! Congrats buddy! Can't wait to hear the rest of the story and see pics!!
  19. aujack, I vote you just pick a name and PM it to texastrophies. I'm game for any of the ones suggested
