Re: 30 - 30 ?? First deer gun I bought was a 30-30. I've shot a few deer with it. My oldest daughter used it her first year out and shot a deer with it.

I was able to get off work and accompany my brother to Wyoming this past week. All I can say is thank God for BenGay!! Needless to say, my legs are a little sore. I wasn't used to the 3 mile walk straight up and down to get to a spot 1/2 mile away on a map! Anyways...It was a successful hunt!! My brother shot a 5x5 mule deer and an antelope that measured roughly 14". He got both within a 3 - 3 1/2 hour time span on Saturday. His freinds daughter shot a 4 x 3 mule deer on Saturday morning. I've never been mule deer or antelope hunting. What a rush!!! It is nothing like hunting whitetails in Wisconsin. Can't wait to go back!!!

Re: Hoof deformation..Dogdoc? It's a condition known as laminitis or "slipper foot". There's an article in Wisconsin Outdoor News with that photo. The buck was hit on Aug. 20. The buck was also still carrying last years antlers. The condition is caused by carbohydrate overload.

Re: Buffalo Wyoming ?\'s This is going to be a DIY hunt. My brother is going with a friend of his who has been out there several times. I'm not really certain where exactly they will be hunting only that it's in the Buffalo area. Thanks for the info guys. I will pass it all on to my bro and let him go from there.

Anyone know of any meat processors and/or taxidermists in the Buffalo Wyoming area? My brother has an antelope and mule deer tag coming up in October. I told him it might be wiser to take something in to a place there and have it shipped back to Wisconsin when it's done. Any ideas? Has anyone else done this and what's your opinion? Good thing, bad thing? Thanks for any info. guys!!

Re: side arm Just my bare hands. Don't need anything more. I'm not even sure it would be legal here to carry a gun while bow hunting.
