Re: Your worst Poacher Story.... We have aprox 80 acres we hunt and i was sitting in my stand pretty close to the property next to us. When i say pretty close i mean like 100 yards or so. Anyway the property next to us has a house that sits right on the border that no one lives in. Back to the story. Its about 3 weeks till shotgun season opens which also means the rut is in full swing and i hear this gun shot pretty close to where the house is. About fall outta my stand its that close and i hear this deer wheezing and crashing around but still am not 100 percent sure what happens. Well i hunted my ladder stand a day earlier so i know there was no dead buck laying there. About a week later im going into the woods and see this teenage guy and his gf or whatever walking outta the woods carrying a shotgun (its youth gun season then). So i what they are doing and they tell me they have the rights to hunt this land. I ask for their permission and they dont have it so i ask them to leave and do so quietly. Then the proceed to tell me there is a dead buck by this ladder stand and they have the antlers in their bag. They tried to tell me it was there for a few weeks they think. I walk to my stand Dead deer about 10 yds from it shotgun hole through his back. People make me so angry sometimes but im glad that i was brought up right and know how to respect God's creatures

Yes most of us have been there. Sitting in your treestand on those mornings where you are constantly thinking about how cold your feet and fingers are. What do you guys do to keep those toes and fingers warm on these days. Thanks guys i know you wont let me down!!

IT was a happy and sad day at the same time. I have been trying to sell my jeep since my parents sprang for my huge dodge ram. I was asking 7500 for it and got many bites but no one came through. This one guy kept in touch over 3 days the first day he asked if it was a 4 cylinder and when i told him it was he didnt want it. The next day he called and told me he'd give me 6500 for it and he needed it quick cause he was moving to nashville this weekend and i live in ohio. when i told him i still wanted 7500 for it he said he didnt want it that bad. Then yesterday he calls and test drives it and goes to the bank while test driving it and gives me a certified check for 7500. It was sad to see it leave but now my parents will get their money!

Re: Who got you? I was brought up in the great outdoors by my dad and his friends. I still hunt with my dad every season and i hope that coninues for a long time to come.

Ohio's Season has come to an end. Wow its really depressing! I was fortunate enough to get one of what i wanted to be 2 birds. I cant complain though because my dad has hunted turkeys so much and has never bagged one. I would like to thank you all on great tips and strategies. Hopefully i can help you all like you helped me. THANKS GUYS!!

Re: Henned up birds Well i'm glad you asked the question so i can learn from others responses. These birds are hard to hunt that way. I have one that is henned up and his hens will come to me but not him!

Re: Turkeys and scent? No scent control plays not part in Turkey hunting. However if you do hunt a place where deer are frequently present u may want to kill as much human odor as possible just in case a deer is in the same area as you and the turkeys so the deer doesnt bust you!! good luck to you!!

Its 12:23 a.m. and i cant sleep.. why u might ask well let me answer that question because my thoughts are filled with that longbeard that has hung up on me all season this year.. I killed his buddy already but today my friends im going after him. If all goes well he will be taking a trip to my house in the back of the wrangler! Nice weather through the weekend now. Re: How to create a gobble? any of those ideas will work but you better make sure u are looking in all directions so if another hunter does respond to you gobbling u will be ready. BE CAREFUL IMITATING A GOBBLER!!

Well i think we all know the kind of day im going to talk about. We took my dads friend who we went elk hunting with this past september to the property in which we hunt.. I have heard up to 8 different gobblers each morning i had been there. Today was raining pretty good at day light. The hens were talking on roost but not a single gobble all day.. i dont know what the deal is.. Is it possible the weater just has them all shut up?? Oh well i know you cant kill gobblers without being out there so i will continue to go after my second this year.. Hope everyone is doing well. Be safe guys!!!
