Re: My Little Trout Fisherman Thanks guys!! He does pretty good on other fish too. He goes on charters with me for stripers,but I help hold the rod for him there.I hear those rods get pretty salty. He likes going for catfish and carp.He'll tell you his biggest fish is a 36" carp.but he's brought in stripers probably that big.

Anyone ever catch a tiger trout?I never saw a tiger trout til a couple years ago when a club I belong to stocked some. That first year they stocked them I had a rod out bottom fishing.It was out for about a half hour with out a bite.My youngest was tired of throwing a spinner and wanted me to re-tie for him so he could bait fish. I told him to use that rod that wasn't getting any action. About that time that rod gets a hit and he grabs it. He hooks and lands a 16" tiger. I never came close to catching one myself that first yr.and I needed one bad just to shut the kid up. The following year I finally shut the kid up by catching not only one nice tiger.but 2 tigers. The first one was on a Sat. in a downpour that went 18".The following day I landed a 22" tiger with a hook jaw. I'll have to look for a pic of the boys 16 incher.Here's a couple of the 18" and 22". Stacy caught that nice palomino.

Re: What was Your Coolest Hunting Experience. I could go on all day with different days that would qualify as the coolest hunting experience. Nov. 2nd of last year would have to be one that ranks up near the top.I shot my first archery buck for the books.

Re: Another Find The Shed Pic Looks like there's one at 6 o'clock and 12:00.If there's anymore in this pic it looks like something a couple feet to the right of shed at 12:00. My binos are a little blurry.

Re: Jerky Before you invest in any grinders you should take some venison to your butcher and have him grind it up for you.Try making some jerky from the ground meat before you committ to a grinder. I think there's a night and day difference between the two different methods of making jerky and how they taste. You can dry jerky made from cut meat in oven too. Just my thought.

He's not so little anymore,but he sure started at a young age.He'll be 10 next month and has caught more then his share of nice trout. If this thread sounds like I'm bragging.Well, I am. I'm pretty proud watching him fish.I love it when he out fishes many around him and grown adults watch him playing a big fish getting more excited then him fighting the fish. Here's a couple pics of some of his catches starting with one when he was 3 yrs. old. The same fish Here's one when he was 4yrs.old. 20 1/4" 4 1/2 lb rainbow. One at 5 yrs. old. 17 1/2" rainbow He caught his biggest trout to date when he was 6. 24 1/2" 6 1/2lb rainbow. When he was 7 yrs.old he took top honors for catching the most fish and biggest in his age group at a trout rodeo. He caught 17 trout total that day with the 2 biggest being 21 1/4 and 20 1/2. Last year was a little slow for the big ones.He did get a nice palamino,17 incher. btw-palaminos have always been his favorite no matter what size they were. This year has been another slow one so far.Trout in the 16-17 range has been about it. Here's Stacy and his brother the non fisherman. With a day's catch at a local rodeo this year.

Somebody on here had to post about still finding sheds and got me fired up to look again. Too hot and green and my areas are void of sheds for the most part.Still I got sheds on the brain. For those like myself that keep and hoard every shed they find.Any chance we can get some group photos and some shed totals from all the years you've been looking? If you happen to be one that can part with their finds how about some totals and pics of what you got?I know some on here probably lost count years ago having found so many.Take a guess,it's all in fun. I do all my shedhunting in MD. and Pa. so I'm pretty proud of my shed collection. There's no way I can say how many miles or hours I've spent looking to find what I got,but it's alot. My total life time shed collection is 514. 503 wt sheds and 11 Pa. elk sheds.It takes alot of leg work and luck with those upstate Pa. elk sheds.I've looked 3 years for them so far. Here's a couple pics. A shot from the back. Let's see some pics of your shed collection!!

Re: Another Find The Shed Pic There is a second shed laying straight above the obvious one,it's under the arch of the vine. The two sheds were off different deer and not a match.I found the obvious one first and while taking my "as it layed" photo saw the second shed laying. How many would have spotted that second shed or would have kept on walking? Here's a pic of the second shed from the opposite side.You can see the vine in both pics and where the shed is in relation to it. The obvious shed is one half to 3 matching sets I've found off the same deer.

Re: My daughters Big\'n Congrats on another great fish!! If you keep her interested in fishing when she gets older you might not have to fight the boys back as bad,she is a cuttie. Does she show a interest in all those deer you kill too?

When I took my youngest out for bass I was affraid the fish would hank the rod out of his hand.He was about your daughters age and we were into some 15"-16" inchers. I tied some small rope around the rod handle and the other side around his waist,worked pretty good.
