Here is my new REVOLVER... It's a superblackhawk.I decided to go with it because it was a little more than 200 bucks less than the others,and I will be using it primarily for hunting.Thanks for all the help. Here is my first shooting session with it.Distances of 15 to 25 yds.

I am stuck between 2 different ones,and 3 different barrel lengths. The first is a S&W model 629 with an 8 3/8" barrel The second is a Ruger Super redhawk with 7.5",or 9.5" barrel. I am planning on using it 90% of the time for hunting hogs and deer,10% target shooting.I do not plan on using hot loads,and I am going to keep it open sights.I don't plan on shooting over 50yds,and prefer to shoot 35yds or less. My problem is that I have been told the S&W trigger is way smoother than the rugers,but I have been told the Ruger is way stronger than the S&W.Any help is appreciated!!

Re: TEAM #4: Gobbling Thunder Got good news and bad news.Good news is I got my first ever osceola on public land,bad news is it is either a jake or bearded hen I just don't know.Either way I have to enter it and it is only worth a few points.Sorry,but I hope it will help in the long run.The bird weighs 9lbs 4oz,and sports a magnum 3 1/2" beard,specks for spurs.Here's some pics.I'll enter it tomorrow.

Read somewhere before...Hens need to be bred only one time to fertilize the entire clutch of eggs.One breeding will keep her fertile for x-number of days...If her nest is broken up she will need to re-breed again.Good thing for us they don't know they need to do it only once.

Re: Calling all 870 shooters .670 stardot,.665 kicks,.665 Mad Max all have done great in my 870 and 3 1/2" winchester 2oz High velocity #4's pattern best in my gun no matter what choke.

Re: flying to roost Same reason 2 people don't generally walk through a door at the same time...but once in a while you'll get someone rude who will come through the door at the same time. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Re: TURKEY TEAM #4 I'm leaning towards team gobbling thunder I just bought one to go on my 11-87.I have a b-square mount on it,and I have a 40mm truglo that should be here tomorrow. I see this is 1 bird per contestant/first bird killed must be entered.I guess I'll still stop in to see how ya'll are doing after I enter my bird.

Re: Deer Hunting with a .22cal Rifle You should check your local laws.22 cal rimfires are illegal in Ga,don't know about where you are from.I know it will kill a hog at reasonably short distances with well placed ear shots.SO I don't know why it wouldn't kill a deer.Guess it just depends on your shooting skills.Good luck.
