  3. Re: diaphram call i use HS strut calls. you can get a variety pack for about 10 dollars. gives 4 types of calls with a case allowing you to switch out to a different call. but i don't like the ones with the tone chamber because i don't get a good sound
  4. Re: Learning Diaphram Calling just practice with any tape. and remember the worst sounding turkey call you'll hear, is usually real.

  9. i just got back from 8 days of deer hunting in Central Illinois. the deer wasn't that great but the turkeys was amazing the park i was hunting has about 5 resident rafters of turkeys. located around the lake, the birds would start calling at sunrise and call all day long,, if the woods got to quiet, i would give a few mouth chirps , and the woods would light up again. one day i called them right into camp just repeating what the birds were doing.the equestrian trail riders would bust up the birds and they would start kee-kee-ing and within minuets they would be all around, i lost three arrows on then silly birds. maybe next year ill go turkey hunting and deer will be all around

  19. Re: First accident of the year! some accidents are just that but most can be avoided. i would not want the guy who shot me to have had to spend time in prison for a stupid accident or laps in judgment. They say you cant fix stupid. he never made that mistake again and i would say hes become a advocate for safe gun handling. criminal who deliberately harm one another need to be punished. A little history we were both in our mid twenty's and nether had taken a hunters safety course however both ex military. since then we both took a hunter safety course don't be to quick to ruin a young mans future Please.

  21. your hunting public land and find someone has placed a permanant ladder stand in a place where they should be removed daily. would you report it or let it be.
  22. Re: Turkey somthing i have learnt about fall calling . when the birds are flying down they scatter and then the boss hen gathers then up if you repeat all of her calls you may pull 4 or 5 birds out of the flock and to you, she will get very agressave in her calling but dont give up, talk to her and they will come to you. its callied a assembly call there is a post in the turkey forum . i have used it in the mid morning when the flock breaks up and are feeding she will be the only bird to anser but the others will start kee keeing.Im not shure how to tell you what the call sounds like but find a flock you can observe and watch the morning flydown and you will hear it . to fall hunt you have to be the boss hen where she goes they go http://www.nwtf.org/special_events/turkey_calls_assembly.html
