I finally got my first turkey with a bow. I have been trying for some time. I sometimes hunting from a blind, or like this one while in the tree stand bow hunting. I always voice call to pass the time. most of the time i'll get a responce. I heard birds at fly down but they went quiet after. two birds came in about 10:00am walking the field edge out in front about twenty yards. I didnt think I could stand and draw but deer decoy had there attention so I poped this one, it ran thirty yards and stoped [image][/image]

Re: What do you do While on Stand hunt. i look around for any movement and listen to the sound of the woods birds,wind the snaping of a branch. i also like to call for turkeys (free calling). sometimes ill pack a lunch or a thermos of soup and just injoy hunting

Re: Ok Lets Admitt It! missed the same buck three times in a row. 1st shot 18yds raining like mad arrow went and stuck tree under him. he ran about 40 yards turned and came back. standing in the same place shot the 2nd arrow it went under him , he ran to the same place as before turned and came back this time skirting around the trail i was waching, 25 yard brodside shot went under him again this time tail high never to be seen again. got down and went home, after lunch i went to the range and found my sight was off 12" low at 20 yards. in the afternoon went back to the same tree . at sunset 6 does came down that trail only 5 left

Re: Special Hunts have hunted some special hunts. one was a good experance where they let 45 archers hunt over three weeks 15 per week. in about 4500 acres. another was not pleasant at all, unorganized elmer fudd type archers all over, stalking around. wont ever apply for that park agian . Its a shame because it has a good deer population.

Re: Ginsing becareful ginsing is regulated in some states and protected under law. a special permit may be required to sell ginsing . its like that here in illinois

looking for a good quiver. because of sight ajusting knobs i cant attach a quiver to my bow . would like to find one that i could carry and attach to deer stand, any sugestions would help

Re: Exploding Carbon Arrows (graphic): i have had an carbon arrow explode in flight. brand new arrow. exploded like nothing i've never seen , split the plastic vains. not one piece was biger than a toothpick. best arrows i have ever shoot . just think of it as one bad arrow

what do you think of one more week in the fall of daylight savings time will it give more time for you to hunt after work?

Then read Dr. Ashby Reports.... its nice reading and technical. but helocopters and bumble bees technicaly cant fly. to say a light arrow cant penitrat like a heavy arrow only needs to go to the range or field. i have never got the penitration i get with a light arrow from a heavy arrow. 9 kills in 2 seasons, all complete passthrough's
