I shot a buck this morning around 7:30 slightly quartering away at about 20yds. I saw him run off with blood spraying from the opposite side. I thought i hit him a little back and low from the exit wound. I gave him about an hour and picked up the trail. Saw a little stomach material at first and then it was a great blood trail for about 100 yrds until I bumped him out of his bed. I backed out. My friend comes to pick me up. He was hunting at a different location. He wanted to see the bed where he laid. I took him there and we went over the stone wall about 40 yds from the bed I kick him out of and the buck gets up 20ft from my friend. He didnt have his bow with him. At that point we marked the spot and back out. Stupid mistake was made on my part by going back to the spot. We are going to go look for him after the morning hunt tomorrow. How injuried is he if he bedded down 40yards after I jumped him the first time? Maybe I clipped the intestines and probably the liver. What do you think my odds are of finding this deer? He would be my best bow buck yet.
