  1. Good luck! By the time you catch up there will be more posts. LOL
  2. Sorry I've been quiet in this post lately guys. I've been trying to get my gear all situated for my trip in May and making sure my reservations at the cabin were still good to go. I'm sorry about your loss Cody! I hope you can come to peace soon with your loss. For everyone who is out there now or soon will be out there hunting soon I'm wishing you all luck on connecting with a bird! I had two in my backyard the other morning. You don't know how itching I was to shoot one with my bow. I think they knew I was a turkey hunter and were teasing me on purpose.
  3. I use the Limbsaver Ultra Quad for split limbs and they seem to work pretty good when installed correctly. I also use their super string leeches and mini s-coil stabilizer, too. Here's a slow-mo video showing what limbsaver products basically do during a shot to take the vibration away and into their products. It's pretty neat how they dance around like they do.

    G5 1/4" Meta Peep

I used to use a G5 Meta Peep and it was nice, but I like the Predators View Peep better. It's a tubeless peep just like the G5 Meta Peep, but designed a bit differently and a different color.
  5. Best of luck Tim! I hope you get a big ol' boss gobbler!
  6. One of my fellow female turkey hunters on Realtree or all of them in a big turkey hunting get-together, but I agree with Ruth we might scare the turkeys to the next county by the end of the trip. LOL
  7. Wouldn't that make them no longer "secret" ingredients if I answer that question... Plus it's suppose to be a "surprise" isn't it...
  8. Are you sure it wasn't bigfoot coming to pay you a visit Tim? I heard one has been roaming around my hunting area last hunting season we were driving to our one hunting spot and ran into a caravan of cars with bigfoot hunters painted on the sides. I hunt up in northwestern PA, so it wouldn't be that much of a migration for them to come up north to visit you. Maybe they just want an autograph or to have you...err I mean have you over...for lunch. I wear a men's 9.5 or 10 depending on if the shoes come in half sizes or not. Glad I'm not the only woman with big feet around here.
  9. Uh oh. Using old and Andrea in the same sentence. You must want punishment. Yes, I would suggest you run... I can't believe Andrea didn't respond yet. I'd be scared, too, very scared. Quiet is 10x's worse! Thanks again everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a great 23rd birthday yesterday.
  10. Since when is that such a bad thing?!? I enjoy scaring my guy friends. Some of them scream like little girls sometimes and it's highly amusing!
  11. Thanks everyone! Looks like I'm off in an hour to get my birthday gift. A trip to the archery pro shop to give my bow a makeover. I'll have her back in a week or so hopefully and she'll look completely different.
  12. I've recently picked up a Limbsaver Mini S-Coil Stabilizer for my hunting bow. It doesn't get in my way, but still does its job.
  13. Welcome to Realtree! Scent control suits are only meant to help you control your scent easier, not make you completely scent-free. As far as I know there's no magical outfit or product on the market that can make you 100% scent-free, if there is please point me in the direction to buy some. So, you still need to be aware of your scent while hunting using these outfits. Here's a few care and wear tips for carbon based scent control clothing below. 1. Washing & Storing - I recommend washing the outfit one time before the first use and then to only ever wash it again when it's really needed (IE. muddy, bloody, etc.). This way you don't wear the outfit out, damage the carbon, or fade your camo. Make sure to follow the washing instructions carefully. I also recommend storing your scent control outfits in scent-free sealed bags or containers in the off-season and when it's not being worn on your hunting trips. 2. Reactivating - Carbon based scent control outfits need reactivated to recharge the carbon in them for them to work at absorbing odors. This time frame and how reactivation is achieved varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, so be sure to follow their recommendations in order to keep your outfit functioning. I reactivate my outfits, when possible, every other day when on a hunting trip. I recommend a reactivation before your first hunt of the season, even if you reactivated before storing the outfit away, just incase. 3. Lures & Cover Scents - Never spray or apply your lures or a cover scent directly on your scent control outfit. Carbon has a limit to how much odor it can absorb before needing reactivated. It cannot distinguish between your human odor and the odor from a lure or cover scent. It just absorbs all odors it comes in contact with. By spraying your lure or cover scent spray on the outfit you're just using up the carbon that is meant to stop your odor from escaping and defeating the purpose of the outfit. Besides ensuring your outfits are properly functioning you need to stay aware of your scent while hunting. As said above only go after the big boy on days you can get the wind to play in your favor at your stands. Otherwise you're only educating him that you're around and where your stand is. Pressuring that big boy too much and having him bust you too often is only educating him more and more each time. If he's educated to one of your stands and busts you often in it I recommend moving the stand to another location and letting that area alone so he can calm down and relax again. Other than that all you can really do is hope luck is on your side someday and that he slips up and you get a chance at harvesting the big buck. Good luck!

    Sometimes you just gotta

    Sounds like an interesting day.
  15. Ruth, I have two laptops at the moment that can play these games. We should bring both and link them up in the car and have multiplayer hunts. LOL! Just have to watch the one laptop is tempermental and will burn your leg when the fan randomly stops working. I'll even just for Steve, reinstall Deer Hunter 2004 and put the mod pack I have in that lets you hunt deer with only a knife.
  16. I'll second that statement. lol
  17. I've been getting my bow setup with some new birthday gifts that my parents surprised me with early. I now have Limbsaver Ultra Quad Split Limb Silencers, Super String Leeches, and a Mini S-Coil Stabilizer to install. I got the stabilizer on, now have to work on the limb silencers. I'll be keeping the string leeches until I get my strings changed and then I'll put those on too. After I get those things installed I have to get my bow prepared to be sent out to Mike Myer's to have him install his custom strings, cables and the Myer's Predators View Peep sight and re-tune/tweak my bow. I also am going to have him throw on one those knotless loops while he has the strings off the bow. Now I just got to save up some money to get my arrows refletched, get some replacement blades for my broadheads, and possibly if I have enough birthday money left over get the new sight that I've been wanting to get for months, the Trophy Ridge Matrix GS and their sight light.
