  9. Re: Deer Huntin\' Joke love it man!
  10. Re: Gun won\'t pattern My optima pro did the same thing until I started using 250 grain shockwave with three 777 pellets. Also I never could get a group while the gun was clean. Before I shot at the range I would put 1 50 grain pellet in the gun and pack enough tp overit to hold it in place, and fire it to dirty the barrel. Then it would always Shoot 1inch groups at 100yds. I also use the remington cleanshot 209 primers.
  11. Re: proud deer [pics] sweet!
  12. Re: I shot a deer...Finally!! great deer. The first deer i ever got after 5 years of trying was a button buck, so yours is great!
  13. Re: jerky Thanks guys for the recipes, I went ahead and made a batch of all three and they are all good, the jesse james was the one I liked the most, but my wife liked the first one best but really they were all great thanks again
  14. This probably sounds stupid, but I have a browning a-bolt 7mm with the boss system. my question is does the boss take away bullet velocity, Right now i am shooting 1/2in group at 100yds and two inches high. I know what the balistics charts say but will it be the same

    hunting music

Re: hunting music hey I know sounds wierd. but when I was in college I took my friend who had never been hunting, with me one morning. he saw about 10 deer, and when we left that day he said that every tine he saw a deer it seemed to be moving to the song called cannonball by the cranberrys
  17. I was wondering if anyone had a good recipe for deer jerky. That is the only way I can get my wife to eat deer meat. so I make a lot of jerky Thanks.
  18. Re: Muzzleoader scopes i've got a nikon prostaff 4x rifle scope on my optima pro and i love it.
  19. Hey everyone! I have been watching these boards for quite a while, and I have learned a lot from you guys and gals, oh and by the way I am in south central OK. I killed this buck saturday at 9:20am this guy came by and gave me a 125yd broadside. the next few seconds were kind of a blur. then when the smoke cleared, which seemed to take an hour. there was no deer. I got down from my stand and started to where the deer had been standing and only saw some tracks. So since I am hunting about 600yds from my inlaws house, I went back and got my dog. who by the way i trained to trail wounded deer 6 years ago. when I got back to the spot where I shot the deer my dog took off and went about 30yds and stopped and sat down, when I got there, she was setting by a big pool of blood. Now I was really fired up, I told her to go get him, and she took off and went about 80yds through thick plum thickets and when I caught up to her she was setting next to my deer. I was shooting a 250gr. shockwave bullet with a optima pro ml. the bullet went through both shoulders and left an exit hole about the size of an orange. After I really looked at the deer I saw that his lower jaw was messed up Right behind the bottom front teeth someone had shot him about two or three days before. while dressing him I found his stomach had nothing in it but water, so it was a goood thing that I got him, I dont think he would have made it through the winter.
  20. Re: Optima and Powerbelts!! I am trying to figure out how to post the pictures and to put a picture in my sig. Give me a couple of days.
  21. Re: Optima and Powerbelts!! Hi! I have never posted before, but I have been visiting this site for about a year now. I have an optima pro and I tried every single powerbelt and different powders and could not get consistant groups. I changed to the 250 gr. shockwaves with three 777 pellets and shot one inch groups at 100yds , and this last weekend shot a nice 11pt. I have six friends that shoot the optima pro and the guns just love the shockwaves.
