Hey everyone! I have been watching these boards for quite a while, and I have learned a lot from you guys and gals, oh and by the way I am in south central OK. I killed this buck saturday at 9:20am this guy came by and gave me a 125yd broadside. the next few seconds were kind of a blur. then when the smoke cleared, which seemed to take an hour. there was no deer. I got down from my stand and started to where the deer had been standing and only saw some tracks. So since I am hunting about 600yds from my inlaws house, I went back and got my dog. who by the way i trained to trail wounded deer 6 years ago. when I got back to the spot where I shot the deer my dog took off and went about 30yds and stopped and sat down, when I got there, she was setting by a big pool of blood. Now I was really fired up, I told her to go get him, and she took off and went about 80yds through thick plum thickets and when I caught up to her she was setting next to my deer. I was shooting a 250gr. shockwave bullet with a optima pro ml. the bullet went through both shoulders and left an exit hole about the size of an orange. After I really looked at the deer I saw that his lower jaw was messed up Right behind the bottom front teeth someone had shot him about two or three days before. while dressing him I found his stomach had nothing in it but water, so it was a goood thing that I got him, I dont think he would have made it through the winter.
