No offense, but if you haven't noticed there is a fraction of the number of people on these forums than there used to be. Your attitude isn't much of a welcome to the forums.

Griz, you have the right attitude about it. Guys, I do have a difficult time with the people who say they would just jump the fence and go after the deer. Especially with all the posts regarding people trespassing on their hunting property and how no one respects fences anymore. Regardless of the situation with the deer (which if it had been hit better, it would not have jumped a fence) I don't see a situation where you just trespass. Does that mean I condone the actions of the landowner, no I don't. At the end of the day though it makes you just a bad a person as the guy who sneaks on to YOUR property to try to take a deer.

Who is the guide you are using?

Has anyone fished Reelfoot and if yes where did you stay?

I will tell you that the "call of the Wild" and "White Fang" are probably my two favorite books.

Dartonman, I know exactly how you feel. Try the Body for Life workout. It is easy to do and you will feel 100% better. Get the book and read it. It will tell you how to eat and live.

I hunt with a .25-06 and use a 117 gr BTSP. That is more than enough to do the job on a mulie. I love mule deer hunting.

I have a Cutco and they are hard to beat.

Indiana is the same way. You can't set a 330 on dry land. You could always set out a few snares.

Do you know if non-res deer tags are over the counter or do you have to draw? I am looking into a lease in Oklahoma and that is a big consideration.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but if you shoot at deer with these encore's they don't get as spooky as if you are shooting a shotgun. At least that has been our experience.

Everyone is making the assumption the actually thought it was a "deer". Maybe he knew what he was shooting and was just playing dumb.

I agree, who knows what the facts are. People are quick to assign blame, and who knows it might have been two people who killed those deer. If it is I am sure the DNR will take care of it. I guess I am having a hard time getting indignant when there are no facts.

Heads up college guys. This is the best time of your life. I would take the stress of a few finals and tests to the everday grind of a job and responsibilities. Just think one of these days you can be the "old" guy talking about how much better college was than working.
