Re: IMB outfitters in ill Take a look at this site. It has a lot of outfitter reviews. I would be very careful. Do the research. You don't want to spend 3 or 4 grand for tag soup because you didn't do your research. www.huntinfo.com

Re: The Greatest Sport in the world!!! I don't think whitetail hunting is any greater than any other type of hunting. I just love to hunt.

Re: Montana hunt Unless you plan on hunting with an outfitter. Add about another $400 for an Outfitter sponsered tag.

Re: Just dont get it-what happens How big is your property. They deer may be moving off and getting shot?

Check out this muzzleloader

Re: Check out this muzzleloader Keep in mind that a lot of eastern states do not have hi po rifles in season for a reason. This muzzleloader while very awesome, has almost the same ballistics as my .25-06. It wouldn't surprise me to see some states ban it. -
Re: my son downed a buck this morning Nice buck, congrats

Re: taking young bucks. I think it is a hunters right to kill a buck if it is 1.5 yrs old if that is what he or she wants to shoot. I sometimes feel that we get caught up in "trophy" hunting and forget why we hunt in the first place. If you want to wait for a wall hanger that is your choice and that is fine, but I will never make fun of or degrade another hunter because they shoot a small buck. The only way you can control what other people shoot is to own a very large amount of property and unfortunately most of us are unable to do that. One thing to consider, how much money is made off of hunters in search of trophy deer? Think of all the camo, calls, scents, decoys, stands, and other equipment you have invested in. Big business.

Re: Ok, I did it!! Blaze orange..the controversy. I hunt private land and I still think it should be mandatory. We had two people drive by last Friday and shoot at deer off the road with a high powered rifle. People are amazingly stupid. Why take the risk?

Re: Crazy Story I think your opinion is in the minority. I live in Indiana and if I saw an elk or bear. Watch out!! If it is legal then I don't see a problem.
-
Re: Michigan Deer Hunters Maybe you should be more specific. Most people don't want some random on their property. Also, it doesn't help you only have 18 posts.

How do the other Hoosier hunters feel about the one buck rule? The group I hunted with this year killed 6 bucks. Two small, two pretty decent and one possible booner. It seems to be like the quality of bucks has risen the last few years

Re: .25-06 I shoot 117 gr BTSP in my Sako.

Re: ARRRRRRGGGGHHH-WHY? I think that qualifies as wanton waste.

Re: To be honest Its kinda sickening!!! To be honest. I post on a particular IU basketball site and we would call this a flame post. Pretty obvious he is trying to get a rise out of everyone and is doing a great job. I would suggest ignoring and moving on.

Re: .25-06 I have a Sako 25-06 and love it. I shoot 117 grain BTSP light magnums through it. I killled a mulie at 380 yds with it and an antelope at 311 yds the year before. Very little recoil and very flat shooting.

Re: Indiana Rifle Season....Near Future?? Never going to happen. Too populated. It is one thing to have a muzzleloader that shoots 200 yds, but my 25-06 will shoot 500.

Re: Still Think this is a Good Idea!!! I am not sold of making hunting a competion (I know I am being a spoilsport).
-
Re: To be honest Its kinda sickening!!! They have a tv show, and products to sell. Who is going to buy Realtree products if they watch a show of Bill Jordan sitting in a tree looking at squirrels? I can't complain about where they get to hunt because if I could afford to I would hunt there too.

Re: Is it just me ? If you wound 3 or more deer in one year without a solid kill, then you might need to find a new hobby. There is no way you could be prepared to hunt and contiually wound animals. You don't have to be a "deadeye" to know your limits and not try to exceed them.

Re: (Potential) Indiana Archery Record send some of those over to Jackson County.....

Re: trapping agreed, trapping is very hard work. If I had the time I would do it every year, but we all know how that goes.

Re: Small Game Season Stinks !! I guess, I will be the guy that does that. Yes, they do have the right to be in the woods as long as they are legal and have permission on the property. As much as I love to deer hunt, that doesn't give us the right to put down other hunters. As far as I am concerned squirrel, rabbit, or bird hunting is just as noble a pursuit as deer hunting. What does it matter if it weighs two lbs or 200lbs. If you don't want people around you, buy some property. (sorry, but hunters should all be on the same side, not be snobs about what kind of game we hunt)

Re: People who just don\'t understand!!!! I am another of the "city" hunters. I grew up in rural Southern IN, but a college degree doesn't do much for you in good ol' Brownstown. I now live in Indianapolis. There are a lot of poor hunters, but I wouldn't necesarily generalize them as "city" hunters. I know a lot of poor hunters that I would classify as dumb rednecks. Point is that it doesn't matter where you live as much as do you respect the sport and are interested in doing what it takes to learn the proper way to harvest game and enjoy hunting.

Re: Best time to hunt the Milk River??? Question 1. Can't answer Question 2. If I am going to get it mounted I use whatever taxidermist that the outfitter suggests. That way the outfitter handles all the grunt work.

Re: New shotgun opinions The remingtons have won more because they have been around for so long. I doubt many shooters 30 yrs ago were carrying berettas and benellis...I have two berettas and love them both. I would recommend going to a place where you can feel the gun and see what fits you best. We all are going to have different opinions on the guns.
