I just got done packing all my gear. The pickup is now loaded and the horse trailor is hitched up. I'm just waiting for 5 am so I can hit the road. I'm headed out to one of my favorite places to hunt mule deer, the Queen Mountain Ranch near Evanston Wyoming. I'll check back with everyone on the 10th or 11th when I get home.

Since they have died I hold very close to me their certificates from Ellis Island Ny when they got off the boat in 1944. There is a right and wrong way to do everything and these dinks need to learn it. I think they should be deported to Afganistan or something though when they do get cought. maybe they will realize how good they have id in Mexico and Cuba or where ever

Re: Checking in Deer? Sign the tag, cut the date out and attach to the carcass. On occasion a small sampeling of hunters get a tooth envelope where you take the bottom two middle teeth and send them in, but not many ever do.

How can you say something is better or worse until you have experienced it first hand? I have hunted a high fence twice and both trips you never even knew the fence was there. If I could afford it and it was legal I would fence my property in Nebraska because it is the ulimate management tool. Not all hunts on a place like that are that high either. I have hunted at Texas Hidden Springs Ranch both tmes. That place is owned by Keith Warren and a trophy hunt was only 3500.00 and a management hunt 9 pt or less and scoring under 170 was 2500.00 Thats not too bad. I just expect everyone to not comment on hunting a fence until you actually have an experience behind one to make such a comment.

Re: Antler restriction poll Lock it up IMO. This thread is going no where fast. Some guys are content shooting little ones, some are content shooting does, some want the big one. To each his own. My management plan and yours are probably very different. I let a buck walk this weekend that looks like many we will see posted here this season, I chose not to because I live in an area I can be selective and thats known for producing keepers. I believe that if you want meat shoot a doe and if you have a buck or either sex tag, well then hunt for a big one. Thats my belief and I'm not forcing it one anyone. Good luck this fall, be safe and for gods sake lets get along and try to be civil.

Re: Bowtech Steve Blows it Hunter get real man. Your posts sound like insults and false information. We were just pickin' at each other a little. Steve simple misjudged the distance. If you ever hunted in the open like where we were I bet you would do the same. Most people do out here. I never saw it stated anywhere where Steve was shakey. All he did was turn his head a little and the doe coming to me asw it. It's not a big deal we had a wekend that was better than most. We had a combined total of four shot opporotunitys in four hunts. Thats not to bad. We saw deer every time and had fun. We accomplished everything but tagging an animal and ya know what, thats the best part of it all, because we have an excuse and a reason to repeat the whole deal. The later the season gets, and the colder the temps get, the better the hunting will be in that spot. I really don't understand what your problem is and why are you hammering him. I was busted because I moved 3 times this weekend and missed a helluva buck. If your going to slander some one, well go right ahead, but you have absolutely no reason to jump steve. I simply made a thread to say thanks for sharing a great weekend with my wife and I and to jack him up a little as thats what we do. Until you have a few more bow sasons under your belt I wouldn't criticise anyone. As steve said don't you have a flippin hole to go crawl back in?

Re: Sportsmen Aren\'t Laughing at New Cartoon Movie I really don't see this movie affecting us as hunters. I plan to take my neices to it. They are both avide outdoore people and we will go and enjoy it I'm sure. There will always be an agenda but c'mon it's a cartoon for goodness sake. Any message from it will blow over in no time if the kids even understand what the message is.

Re: Realtree MasterCard? No there is no bennefit to it for me. All my gear comes from either scheels or cabelas and I get points worth money with the cabelas card. Since most places don't take checks nymore i use my card for everything and just pay it off every months. The RT card has too high of a rate should someone need ro revolve a balance, and there are no perks with it. I'll stick to Cabelas.
