Re: Synthetic blend motor oil I use regaular valvoline except in the winter I use a straight synthetic. I park outside and synthetic seems to move a litle better than the regular stuff when it's 25 degrees below zero.

Re: Bowtech Steve Blows it Man I need to change the title of this thread. LOL Steve I was up to the gravel pit this morning. I saw that buck up there but he was nervous and quitw aways off. I wouldn't come closer than 100 yards. I had a pair of does and their young come by at 22 yards but I opted not to shoot hoping that buck would work his way in a little closer.

Re: Antler restriction poll I support them all the way. It just give the bucks a chance to age a little more and also increases everyones chance of killing a keeper. I wish more states would adopt the program. I also like the earn a buck idea. Impliment earn a buck with antler restrictions, now you have the makings of a fine herd.

Re: Bowtech Steve Blows it We'll Steve in turn I did blow it. I was on the stand for no more than about 20 min when I saw a small deers back half disappear into the corn. I heard them rustling through the field and could even watch some of the stalks move they were pulling ears from. I turned my attenton to a doe behind me that was coming inI glanced back to the corn and the little deer i saw was quartering away at 40 yards. I drew back on her when a mega buck appeared behind her. The doe was at a spot i ranged at 40 yards. The buck though was a little closer apparently as i shot over his back. I ended up staying til dark and getting busted by every doe in the woods. It was a good night and a great weekend non the less. I have a buisy week with a funeral and leaving for my Wyo deer hunt, immediatly followed by a SD antelope hunt, so I won't get back in their for atleast a couple weeks. That should give him enough time to settle down. Knowing my luck Steve will probably end up shooting it too. Oh well I really couldn't care I just want to put my hand on that rack.

Re: Bowtech Steve Blows it We went back out this morning to clear sjys, calkm winds and temps in the lower 40's. We had deer moving right away. A doe was on her way to the food bank but she didn't come that extra step I needed after she herd me draw. Steve had a similar experience only moments later. We saw totally different deer today than we saw yesterday. We had 3 deer in bow range out first 30 min on stand. We saw another couple young bucks. I was really suprised we saw as many deer as we did due to how early in the year it is yet, and that all the crops are still in. We have no complaints, it was a great weekend.

Re: Resurrect a political leader....who? [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I would say JFK even though I wasn't around when he was assassinated but from what I heard he had a passion for his country. [/ QUOTE ] That is very debatable! I never saw anything like that from him and I ate beans and something 3 times a day for 32 days in Germany when he was in! He blew it badly in Germany with the Russians and that is why the Berlin Wall was built. Thanks to JFK!!! [/ QUOTE ] I agree. I just don't like any democrat though.

Bowtech turkey hunter and his tribe came up for the weekend for a little bowhunting. Friday afternoon when Steve, Kimberly and the kids came to town I took Steve to the 3D course where they held the NFAA nationals the lsat two years. We shot alot of arrows af various distances. I even watched Steve hold over with his 50 yard pin and make a picture pefect 80 yard shot with his bow. We saw alot of deer sign on the trail and even had a flock of turkeys walk past us at a distance of no further than 8 yards while we were on the course. We went out to eat and had a great time. We even drove by the elk ranch just south of town and were lucky enough to catch a great big 7x7 fighting in an all out battle with a lesser bull. It truely was a great sight to see. Sat morning we headd to the woods we scouted and placed stands a couple weeks ago. We were plenty early as Steve made a goof in checking the sunrise time. We had a big mature doe some by and then a basket rack 2 yr old 4x5 buck and a real little guy was running around with them. That 4x5 buck was chasing the doe hard almost like they were rutting but I'm certain they weren't. Then a 2-3 year olddoe and her baby's were coming in but busted us. I would have liked to see that doe go down because she had twin doe fawns with her. Steve felt the need to move like soul train was inthe stand and they were gone. ( Sorry Buddy I had to do it lol) Anyway we came in and took his tribe to see some Lewis and Clark sites and the local aquarium. We then headd up to have luch with Dakota and the Case tribe. We then headed back out to hunt some more but we had gale forse winds and only saw a doe with a young 'un. We then came back to my house and grilled steaks and had a great time. We are planning on going out again in the morning if the wind lays down some. I guess I'll let you know how that goes then. Anyway just thought I'd share the gret weekend I've had so far with everyone.

Re: thoughts on safety There have been 3 elk hunters found dead in the west already this year. 2 died of carbonmonoxide in their camper trailor, and the other was hit by lightning. You can never play it too safe. No animal in the world is worth risking your life for.

Re: Hunt any animal in the world [ QUOTE ] sheep [/ QUOTE ] I just hope your still able to go by the time I pull that SD tags Steve. Would be nice since you only live a short distance from where I would hunt. Maybe that draw will come through one of these years.
