    Nice Rule

Re: Nice Rule [ QUOTE ] thats kinda stupid, why did you join the forum if you dont entend to say anything, and your next post will be IF AND WHEN YOU KILL A DEER, than i with uncle steven, maybe you should leave if thats how you feel, and i hope they dont put you with me, WE MIGHT NEVER HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe it was sarcastic. His post was at 9:31 fri night. maybe he plans to hunt today and have a big ol' buck to beag on tonight.
  4. Re: Dakota Elk Hunt Update Well I got a report too late last night. They saw a few small 4x4's and one that appeared to be a keeper. They left him out there one more night as Steve B said "we know where he lives now." I have a good feeling about today. I wouldn't be suprised if Dakota had Steve up to elbows in work before dark tonight. Anyway sounds like everyone is having a good time and the sight of a few animals has Dakota ready to get back after 'em today.

  6. Re: Dakota Elk Hunt Update I haven't heard from my camera man yet but I'm expecting a call about any time now. Hope to have a report shortly.
  7. Re: prairie dogs I have a praire dog town about 11 miles from my house on some ground of my dads. Come on out any time when it's hot, set up a picnic table and blast away. Make sure you have plenty of ammo. Dad and I can shoot 700-800 rounds or 22-250 and 220 swift ammo real easy in a day. We have been poisioning them the last few years but it doesn't seem to be helping much. They still continue to destroy acres of valuable pasture land and hay fields.

    Apology!

Re: Apology! I just hope you have learned a valuable lesson in humility and don't let this sociopathic (sp) behavior continue.

    Apology!

Re: Apology! I am currious to know if you actually thought you would get away with this? You had to have known that this board would be planning some sort of gesture for your family. How did you plan to deal with that?

    Apology!

Re: Apology! I just don't understand why you didn't just tell us the truth from the start. This was going to spawn another lie most deffinately, because next I have a suspicion you would have said your parents wanted you to stay put or something like that.

  23. Re: Outfitter Business [ QUOTE ] We are looking at making a purchase of land in a prime Ok hunting county. The land for sell has 800 acres. I currently hunt my father-in-laws land (about 1000 acres) and that is more than sufficient. Can you run guided hunts on property that size? Maybe you can help with that one rifleman25. Thanks you guys for the responses. [/ QUOTE ] As long as you limit the number of hunters you can get by with 1k acres. If you know you only have X numbers of good bucks then don't sell any more hunts than that. You might also want to offer some free doe hunts to aid in your management to some local kids, senior citiczens, or vetrans. Have a guide with them to make sure they only kill the older mature does to avoid killing a young button buck that could turn into a kepper one day. You might also want to put several protein feeders out and feed a product like legends deer feed or record rack. These will all help you. As long as your property is not over grazed you should be fine. Just don't get cought up with the money and grow big old mature bucks. Learn about aging them on the hoof if you don't right now and make it a point to not shoot a buck or let anyone shoot a buck under 5 1/2 yrs old. It may take a while to get to that point but once you do your set. Just think like this, offer a hunt that you would be willing to travel and pay your price for.
