......But I will get it back soon...... Well today I took my Mathews to the dealer. If you read my last post I need to make the draw shorter. The guy looked it over and said yeah I can order you a 27inch cam with 80% let off. The he said it "It will take up to 3 weeks for it to come in" Then we talked about a new string and cable. So I am going to miss the turkey opener with my bow. But when it comes time to go pick her up it will be like a new bow. I can wait! One more thing....Is it customary to tip you bow technician? I have never really had to get a pro to work on it before.

Well fixed it today guys... I haven't seen him in a while because we work in different cable systems, but a guy called in today so I went to work up his way. I asked him how the bow was shooting and if he was going to take it turkey hunting this year. He told me he had not really had a chance to shoot it becuase where he has been working has been full up on installs. By time he gtes home he is to tired to shoot. I told him not to worry about it and that if he did like it just to keep it because I never plan on using it anyway. He told me thanks and we went on about something else because hey we're guys and everything that needed to be said was said.

You guys ever play spoons. Good laugh everytime, we alway pull this on the new guys of the group and chance we get. Pretty much get 3 spoons. Pick a victim and and partner in crime. Explain the rules to the victim. Rules: Two people sit in front of each other (partner and victim). Each gets a spoon. They take turns hitting each other in the head as hard as they can with the spoons in their mouth until one gives up. The really doing this hard can not be done. Everyone else froms a circle around them like some cage match is going down. Now the third sppon comes into play after the victim takes there turn. Make sure they go first. The perosn standing behind your victim will hit them on the head with the extra spoon when your partner acts like they are taking there turn. Just be careful not to hit their spoon. The victim is amazed by how hard the other person hit them. The object is to see how long you can keep it going. I posted a link to a video on youtube watch and laugh:

I am suppost to be selling my bow to I guy I work with. I told him to shoot it and see what he thinks and I would only ask $100 for it. Well it has been a while since he has had it and no money yet. I mean I am not really interested in the money because I have a new bow and the one he has was given to me years ago because I gave a friend my pse so he cold start hunting. I know the guy has a hard time because he is a single dad and make just as much as me. I have a hard enough time with my wife and I and she has a job. I was thinking about just letting him have it, but it has been 4 months and he has not even said anything about paying me for it. Should I ask him about it or just forget it being I was going to let him have it anyway?

I really dont. I know I am putting myself in danger. As a matter of fact I have two that came with my tree stand but have only taken one with me twice. This year is different though. I am married and have a good job. I wear a belt on the job why not while hunting. I fell at work about 3 weeks ago coming down my ladder. I got lucky and rolled when I hit. I was hurting a few days but was not hurt bad. I want to get a HSS Vest because the two I have suck for hunting. They are cheap and when I draw my bow back it my arms get stuck. I know that doesnt validate not using it but this year I will use on. You guys can hold me to it.

Ok so I took a trip to my "local" Mathews dealer. About 50 miles away but I have been working up there the past week so took an extra 10 miles to get home today. We talked about bows about arrows and turkey. He broke out the tape line and figured me up at 27.60" and we decided to order a 27". Then slap a loop on it, with my release I say I would be right where I need to be. He said he can order the cam for me but it would cost about $80. Plus $20 to install it. But I think he has talked me intom a new string and cable. Might as well get a tune up I figure the bow could use it. Time to start shootin tight.

Yeah thi law seems like it could go both ways. I could see many people getting away with murder but I would not want to go to jail for defending myself.

I have to tell my wife to calm down all the time. She is well a sissy and every bump gets to her. I did find out what is was...well I think. A pipe came undone. I am guessing the sound was it falling. I would have to see James first then after that the house burns

I am not saying where I live is a bad place. But Eastern Kentucky has a very large population of pill heads. In my area the people are nice and everyone works hard to make a living but all you have to do is cross over the hill. Their you will find the drug dealers. Now I dont know of any houses being broke into. But I plan to protect my wife if somethings does happen. The plan is we lock ourselves in the bathroom with the gun. If they want to take something by all means let them but if they try to break down the door to the bathroom they die. I am not living in fear of those around me, I am only prepared if something should come up.

So at 2:00 this morning I was woke up by thumps that I thought were coming from outside. My first thought was someone breaking in. My wife was still awake on her laptop beside me and she was freaking out. I told her to be quiet and just listen to see if anyone was talking. My inside dog was going crazy barking at whatever it was, but no barking from outside the house. Then we heard it again. This time now that I was awake I noticed it came from the center of the bedroom. Maybe raccoon under the house. I hope so atleast. When it comes to ghost and things that go bump in the night I am kind of a skeptic. A man did die hear a year before we bought it, but we later found out he was shot in the chest with a black powder gun. (Not my first chioce either) After that they cut his head off with an axe. That explains what I thought was motor oil on the carpet when I went to get the double wide ready to move. Needless to say all floors have been replaced. But whats your take on the supernatural? Could it be the rise of James Mollette or am I just standing to close to the pump when I get gas?

My last post made me want to ask...For those of you that keep a defence gun in your bedroom, how do you keep it stored? I don't like keeping guns outside out the case wihout a lock on them. But if someone breaks in I would have to go past both door to my house and through the living room to get to my guns. By that time I would be hurt or worse. As of right now an un-drywall spot inside masterbath closet is hiding a 12ga. Not loaded but the shells are near by. I don't have kids yet so it will do for now. But I am afraid to keep it there when we do have kids. I know I could lock it but that would take time to unlock and then load it. Anyone got any tips for the future?

Can anyone direct me to a link about this law. They were talking about it on the radio and I would like to find out more. I know Kentucky is a shoot first state but what does that mean. The only sites I can find bash the law and make it seem like it gives people the right to just shoot anyone. The reason I ask is because last night we heard some thumping outside and well it freaked us out. I always keep my guns in a case and locked but thought about it and if someone did break in I would be screwed. So now I have a shot gun hid inside he bathroom closet inside of a hidden space in the wall. Just incase.

OK I am home now. Got some info for you guys. Turns out I was right, way to long. The bow is 30". I figure with string 4 years old then we could add a little extra to that. So yeah anyone want to direct me to a new cam.
-
Well I know I need about a 28"....well 27.25" really but what I am shooting seems long. I will post some pictures and get those numbers when I get home. Thanks guys!

By the way it is a Mathews MQ1

I have had a Mathews for about 3 years now and have always been a decent shot with it. Now given the bow was a trade off I am not 100% sure about the draw length. But the guy I traded was my height and size so I figured it would be close. (yeah yeah I know not smart) Last year I decide I was going to become the best bow shot in my area. So I have shot my guts out recently and have been getting better. But I have hit a plateau. It seems as if I can't get my group any tighter. My wife took some picture of me shooting the other night and I noticed my head was leaning back. This tells me my draw length might be a little long, or I just shoot wierd. But being I want to be a dead eye I figure I would try a smaller length. I know I need about a 28" draw, so can I adjust this bow or has this tarde bit me in the butt?

The money is good, and the job is easy. I tell people all the time the hardest thing I do all day is carry a 80pound ladder from the truck to a pole. But some day I would like to have kids and I would like to be able to still work and provide for a family and not have problems with my shoulder or back.

Just last week I hurt my shoulder while getting a ladder off my truck. I had to take 3 days off until the Arthrotec did its thing. So back to work I go with doctors orders to take it easy when yesterday I fell from somewhere in between 15 and 20 feet. I had just started down the ladder and the feet kicked out, the ladder slid down the hill. I had the hooks on the cable line or it would have been much worse. But I did get thrown and landed right in a thorn bush. I am not hurt just really really sore this morning. But you know I am the type of guy that can take a hint. Time the leave the cable industry my friends.

This morning a friend of mine was killed when his truck and a Pepsi truck hit head on. He was thrown from his truck and his two passengers died after the truck burst into flames....we later found out the driver of the Pepsi truck was my wifes uncle. He is in the hospital but is exspected to make a full recovery. Please pray for the families of those involved. http://www.wkyt.com/wymtnews

To me it is all about sharing the experience. Hunting with people that have never been before is the best of all. I open up a new world to someone and to see them shaking whenever a deer walks by or a squirrel at that. That something right there.
