I use the rage 2's, and will never use anything else. ya just gotta make sure that before you shoot, the blades are nice and tight in the o-ring. have shot 3 deer with them and none made it farther than 40 yards.
-
if you still have another, i wanna get one from ya too
-
im gonna say either a fence or a gore from another buck..?
-
wowww, thats a monster for sure

i used the rage 2's..will not change anytime soon..shot a little messed up buck just last week with one and it was quartering away, and it just ripped thru..the deer only ran like 30 yards. its worth the extra 10-20 bucks..good luck!

Hey guys and gals..i was gonna plant corn around some soybeans and maybe mix some cowpeas in with the beans. What is the best type of corn that will produce a good number of ears, but can also withstand a drout? as i tend to see in the summer in North Carolina. i have tried corn before and it grows about 3-4 feet and dies before the ears get growing good. Also, when should i plant soybeans? my bow season will start in mid september and i have not tried soybeans before..and if anyone has any suggestions of the types of cowpeas of soybeans i should plant to withstand a drout, let me know! thanks, Dalton

Well i posted a story of me callin in a turkey for my buddy about a week ago. Well i went by myself this mornin on a spot i got permission to hunt a few days ago. it has a HUGE cutover. well i wasnt positive where the birds were roosting so i got in kinda early. there were a few spots i thought they might be roosted at, well i stopped in the cutover about 75 yards from the treeline which backed up to a river, and about 100 yards to either side of the other wood line(the cutover is a square pretty much). well i got down on a knee cause the grass was somewhat tall, and waited to hear what i wanted to hear, a gobble. well i got itchy not hearing anything for a little bit, and just as i was about to get up and creep my way to the tree line to move on, i just happend to look at my left up in a tree where i saw a black spot, and it was like as soon as it ran through my head that that black spot might be a turkey, he gobbled. craziest thing ever. i laid down flat on my back so he couldnt see me, and at this point i was pretty much in the middle of the cutover and i could see this bird through the binoculars, but he NEVER saw me, i was about 100 yards away and not very concealed. i was surprised he didnt see me. well i called to him very little because i thought he had hens with him. right before 7 he flew down STRAIGHT to me through this cutover. i yelped and clucked and purred just once. just hung up a little bit and didnt gobble, so i didnt call. he couldnt stand it, and gobbled, so i purred back at him and clucked, and that was all the calling i did. i could only see 30 yards infront of me because of the grass, and he worked in like a charm, gobbling about 10 times or so. dropped him at 20 yards, he had an 11inch beard, 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 inch spurs, and weighed a whopping 24 pounds, my best bird for sure. he was dead right at 7. i love it! thanks for reading..

Well i have to say this is one of the most exciting turkey hunts ive been on so far. I took my buddy from high school for his first ever turkey hunt on his land. we scouted yesterday afternoon and i saw what i needed to see..gobbler tracks. Well we got there just a few minutes too late and didnt get to go where i wanted to set up because we were cut off by the thundering sound of a gobbler roosted 30 yards off a field. we got to the field corner within 75 yards of him or so, i bet he gobbled over 50 times before he got shot at 7 30. well he flew down the OTHER way, down by a creek and close to a field about 150-200 yards away. gobbling his a** off! a few minutes later a jake walked behind us and never said a WORD AT ALL, and when i turned my head behind me he was 20 yards. he putted and flew off because he saw me move, but that didnt bother the gobbler, he kept gobbling. then 20 yards to our right a hen hopped a few trees closer to MY hen calling. then she chimed in with me, it was WONDERFUL, the tom was eating every note..cutting us off numerous times. but he would not come closer. finally i got the bright idea to use my gobbler shaker because i hadnt heard and other birds and by the way the jake acted this WAS the dominant bird. the bird came on a b-line only gobbling 3-4 times coming in. i saw his fan poke up at about 50 yards, but i wasnt about to shoot that bird, it was my buddies all the way. then that hen pitched down out of the tree(this is at SEVEN THIRTY now!) right to the gobbler who was strutting at 25 steps, and my buddy kyle gave him some number 5's to the face!! this was the first gobbler ive called in ALL the way to me and been shot, and his first experience turkey hunting at all. i loved every second of it. im only 18, and addicted to turkey hunting all ready. sorry about the long post, but the story just made my whole month! heres a picture.

So i hunted this deer the past few days, except sunday cause north carolina cant hunt sundays, and im getting trail cams pics of him before and after im in the deer stand 50 yards away. but im seeing at least 5 does everytime i go out. i will post a picture of the buck, hes a 10 pointer that ive been hunting since last year, but i have pics of him since he was 1 1/2. hes only 3.5 in this picture i think, but hes HUGE for around here so i want him bad. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!? move towards where i think hes bedding at or just wait it out? i dont see much rut activity here except at night..ANY advice will be put into use. Thanks, Dalton! heres a pic of him

thanks for the info.! but i was told to shoot the does with button bucks so they wont run them off, and that this should be done before the rut. whats everyones input on this? before or after the rut? i have a decent number of does, but not outrageous numbers. Thanks

alright so ive been hunting for 12 years now. killed plenty of deer, but only 2-3 decent sized bucks but i know the big ones are around because i get pics of them all the time, even daytime pics at my corn feeder. We own 112 acres and have a trailer park and about 10-12 houses we rent, and our land joins game lands and they shoot pretty much anything. i hunt either over a food plot of mixed hamman farms with oats or a timed corn feeder and see plenty of deer but not the big ones. Im thinking they are just nocternal, but i dont even see the big ones during the rut. my corn feeder is in the middle of oak trees and the acorns are falling good now. What do i need to do? hunt ridge tops oak trees when its not windy? any advice would be helpful..THANKS!

I was wonderin if yhall could give me a few scores, i was guessin around 130? Its a big deer for around here. not the best pics but just lookin for an estimate. Thanks!

Watched the brother shoot his first deer today, a doe, and then popped these bad boys with the trust ol' .22. I'd just say their all 10 inches. one might be 10 1/2. Thanks!

Cleared out new shooting lanes - how soon to hunt it?
outdoorsmen1 replied to Rem308's topic in Bowhunting
Heck i'd hunt it tomorrow if i were you. We cleared out shooting lanes with a chainsaw and put up a double stand on thanksgiving 3 years ago and i killed a weird little buck, although it was really windy that day I dont think they should care. -
For those of you who read my posts, I shot my biggest buck yet with a bow last saturday night and couldnt find it, and it got drug up by my grandmas dog 2 days ago. here is it. i think its this deer, but am not really sure, its the closest pic i had to the deer i thought it was. Also, what will he score? thanks.

Congrats. Our season just opened up 2 days ago, once these leaves start to fall off, and the rut is over ill be right there with ya.

Anybody know of any good taxadermists in North Carolina? That can do a deer rug, skunk, and a raccoon for me? lemme know, Thanks!
-
Im pretty sure i hit him low in the shoulder, there was about 12 inches of my arrow that is still in him. The thing is that his blood trail would get really thick, then thin out, then thick, then thin. It did that for about 200 yards before it eventually stopped. They sure are some tough animals.

Thanks guys, I rarely see a buck chase a doe, and always see lone does or does with little ones when our rut is supposed to be. But I always see lots of scrapes and rubs and all that good stuff, but just not a lot of buck and doe activity at the same time.

Well thanks fellas for the advice and everything, but im gonna have to give yhall the sad face:confused: on this one, we walked 300-400 yards around from where we had the last drop of blood, and NOTHING. no more blood or anything. Im really downed because that was not only my biggest bow buck, but def. the biggest buck i wouldve gotten. Now im hoping to at least find the buzzards over him and get the antlers, cause i know for a fact hes gotta be dead somewhere. thanks guys
