    Put out to pasture

Ha. ha. Two problems with that scenerio, as I keep explaining to my husband. 1. What makes you think 2 - 20s would have you? 2. You don't know what to do with me, you would be clueless if there were two!!
  2. Why do you only have before pictures? Where's the muddy from here to there shots? It is a great idea ... best of luck with it!!!
  3. Don't you love how photos take on a life all their own on the internet?!?!?! If I came across a collection of cars like that I would have to start running title searches on them to see who dumped them and why. With my luck it would be a mob car dump -- you know all of the cars belonging to people who had mysteriously disappeared over the years and the graveyard would be out back!!! It is a sweet collection though!
  4. I loved both shows ... I did not see Team Texas on Dream Season (only disappointment for me -- but I am a little biased!!) and I thought they were supposed to be on there (but I did run outside for a few minutes so I could have missed them). I was really impressed with how the teams handled the misses ... and the total lack of judgment from the husbands for their wives. It is encouraging for me as a beginner hunter to see others making mistakes and to see them having troule with the same things I am struggling with. My husband and his friend have all been bow hunting for forever (hubby started in high school and he is 32, his friend is in his mid-40s and he has been bowhunting since high school also so they have YEARS of experience on me) and they are amazing. I am still learning and it is difficult to watch them and not get discouraged. So I say YEAH DREAM SEASON for showing the hits and the misses and for the couples who are totally laying it out there for all to see. Kudos all around and keep up the good work!
  5. Team New York had been seperated for several months before filming started but they were going to attempt to make it through the season. Team Wisconsin is the new team. http://www.druryoutdoors.com/showsynopses.html Let me just say: GO TEAM TEXAS!!!
  6. Rocky Road ... what else do you need?
  7. I've got the new bow with the right draw length (two inches shorter than it was!!) but am wondering about a kisser button. Hubby has one he puts in the corner of his mouth and he loves it and suggested I put one on my bow to help me pull back to the same place every time. The guy that put my string loop on made a larger end on the top so I could feel it in the corner of my mouth. Problem is, the more I practice the more trouble I am having feeling it in the corner of my mouth (I think the string is wearing down on the end). How do y'all feel about kisser buttons? Do you use them? Do you like them? Any suggestions other than a kisser button? Thanks, Shannon

    80's music

What was there not to love?!?!?!?! Bon Jovi, Chicago, Metallica, Kiss, The Bangles (Walk like an Egyption!!!), Journey, Van Halen, Pink FLoyd (ok, technically he was more late 70s ... but you gotta love him!!), White Snake, Poison. And let's not forget George Strait ... that was the beginning for him!!!!!!
  9. Re: How Big Of An Ole Girl Are Ya? 5'2" age 32 (and those are the only numbers you will get out of me!!) Pleasantly plump (ok, ok, large but I refuse to use numbers even my hubby doesn't know!!) Why is it guys have no problem with using numbers? Just for grins ... saw our friend's little girl at the pet show yesterday. When you ask her how old she is (she's 2) she leans towards you and says clearly and succinctly "I'm 20 pounds!"
  10. Re: another gardening question Azaleas need sun ... we had some across the front of the house. One side was gorgeous and the other side was puny. The only difference was the shade. For the north side here in Texas I have Lantana, Kate Jasmine (similar to a gardenia), hibiscus (which do well with small amounts of sunlight), and Vinca (ground cover).

    Would you dare...

Re: Would you dare... Personally, I got sick to my stomach just looking at the pic!!! I might stand on the edge of the canyon and look over the edge but that is it!!!
  13. This came from a women's hunting group I am a member of -- I am sharing it with everyone!!! He has included his e-mail address at the bottom if anyone is interested or can help out ... Hello, I am a concerned hunter. I am not concerned for myself, but for that of my wife's right to hunt as well as other women hunters. My wife has hunted for the last several years and has most recently gotten into Bow hunting. I recently had to leave a hunting club for the reason that the "GUYS" were not comfortable with women being there before or after the hunt. As it was explained to me, it was fact of not being able to be "GUYS" when a woman was around. It was fine for a woman to hunt, but they needed to to leave as soon as possible so the men could relax. I understand that men can be gentlemen in the presence of a woman and "GUYS" when they aren't around. I say this because,as a man, I should know. I live my life for my wife and kids, and would not do anything in their presence that I wouldn't do without them there. I know the fact of men being the meat providers is still strong in today's world. Seeing that most of the meat comes from the stores, I don't why a woman cannot hunt as easily as a man. I have a friend who hunts and loves it as much as I do, but because she is a female, she cannot join a hunting club. Knowing this, she has to rely on the "true gentlemen" to take her hunting. In today's hunting club its all about management; to provide food for the animals, and to manage the animals with hopes to harvest one we are proud of and display on our walls. I think that is a wonderful thing, but we also need to manage ourselves. We need to encourage hunting to everyone, be they man or woman. You always hear take a child hunting or fishing, well why not a woman? I wrote this to find help. I need help in finding places to hunt that are family oriented, as well as open to the idea of women in the sport. I have talked to several organizations, and it is always the same; they never really can help. So I decided to do this. I call on anyone that can help, who knows how to start an organization- for I'd like to start one. Anyone who would be willing to help, be it; land to lease, donations, or any other helping hand. I know that there are organizations for women out there, but yet none in the eastern part of North Carolina in which we live. I write this for the love of hunting, the love of my wife, and the love of my kids. Without women hunters or ones who support it, there will be no future hunters. So please pass this along to everyone on your e-mail list or simply put it in the trash bin-its your call, but I will continue to look for help in any way possible. If you would like to respond, I am more than grateful to read your responses-be it good or bad. If you are a woman hunter and have had an experience such as this happen to you, I look forward to your response most of all. I am not trying to change the world just the way it thinks. Thank you, Rick E-mail j10man74@yahoo. com
  14. Re: Getting the Same Truck as one of your friends Hubby and his best friend have the same truck -- 3/4 ton Dodge 4x4 -- in different colors and with different options (we have spray in bedliner, heavy duty back bumper, grill guard on the front, different steps, headache rack, custom made tool box, gooseneck hook-up -- friend's truck is stock). Lots of people have the same truck -- esp. the cowboys who use theirs day in and day out. It is perfect for hunting, hauling a boat, pulling a trailer, hauling feed, hauling cows, etc. Who gives a you know what? If it is a good vehicle and it fits your demands, the heck with everybody else!!!

    HELP!! Color of ham??

Re: HELP!! Color of ham?? Before I cook pork I like to soak the blood out in water and the meat turns a light gray color (and we hog hunt so all our pork is fresh and not processed other than us cutting it up and freezing it). Even if we cut it off the pig, slice it, and fry it immediately, the loin turns gray when fried. I don't batter it or anything just sprinkle a little salt and pepper on it and stick it in the skillet.
  17. Re: The story of my life.... *(Pics)* [ QUOTE ] I couldnt help but laugh and tell her that she looked like one of the seven Dwarfs instead of a Princess.... [/ QUOTE ] And I would say from the looks of the living room you did not mean Sleepy!!! She is adorable and (shame face here) even 'trashed' your living room is cleaner than mine and I don't have kids!!!
  18. Re: 6 letter love note And why would she have that note in her pocket? Isn't that something she would have just said out loud? Was she prepared for the break up? Please ... obviously fiction!
  19. Re: A very expensive doggy snack..... I don't leave my dinky 1/4 carat lying around where one of the dogs could get it so I can't fathom leaving 5 carats out where it could be snapped up! In fact, you would be hard put to pry 5 carats off of my finger to begin witih!!! Shannon
  20. Re: Christmas shopping? I HATE shopping -- unless I am shopping for books and then just go away and leave me in my own personal heaven! My nephews and neices have five different Christmas get togethers so they get everything. Then there is the step-sister and her husband who we see at Christmas and occassionally when I am out and about in town. What do you do for that? And Will is no help. He just says he doesn't know what to get and why am I asking him.

    Dream big!

Re: Dream big! Alligator hunting w/ crossbow in Florida!! Vicki makes it look like so much fun!!!
  24. Re: Best and worse of your season? Best was being there when my nephew shot his first deer and when hubby got his biggest buck ever (14 points but only 12 were scorable b/c two were less than an inch, 164 1/8 B&C). The worst was being there when hubby got his biggest buck ever b/c he shot him instead of shooing him towards my stand!!!
  25. Re: Hunting Christmas? We are doing our Christmas get together this Sunday with his family because hubby's sister is going to Arkansas with her husband the week before Christmas and is having Christmas with her first husbands parents next weekend (first husband was killed in car wreck the first year they were married). And all the family I have left is my Dad and some friends I grew up with -- and my Dad is myhunting buddy so we will DEFINATELY be hunting morning and afternoon with packing for our annual trip to W. Texas (leave on the 26th!!) happening during the lunch hour.
