Has anyone got a chance to try out the new Remington R-15? If you haven't seen it yet, it is basically a camoflaged AR-15.

I am looking for anyone who knows of outfitters who help disabled hunters. My fatehr in law is in wheelchair and LOVES to hunt. He is able to transfer, and can walk short distances (less than 30 yds). He has pistol that he can hunt with. Anyone know where he can go on a hunt?

I went out this weekend to pattern my shotgun for the upcoming turkey season and got some interesting results. I am shooting Benelli Super Nova with the Truglo Gobble stopper Turkey choke and using Winchester Extended range shells 12G 2oz #5 (I think it was the Hevi-shot). First shot at 20yds had very tight pattern just left of aiming point 2nd shot had a much more spread out pattern. then moved to 30 yds 1st shot had decent spread pattern 2nd had wider spread With all the factors being equal, Why wasn't I getting the same pattern with each shot?

What exercises have you found that helps you get into shape for bowhunting?

I am considering going to an outfitter near me. They list a bunch of references. What are some of the things would you ask the references?

Just curious if anyone had any old (still usable) 3D targets they wanted to get rid off. Budget is tight and I can't afford new ones.

I agree with everyone else. You gave more than enough space. I had someone this year set up right across from me on the opposite side of the same trail. He ended up spooking a monster doe that I had seen several times, but never got a shot at.

I am considering getting into Blackpowder shooting. I am looking at the Remington Genesis rifle. Cabelas has it with scope and starter kit for $300. Looking for feedback on the rifle. Anone use it? Like it? Hate it?

I have the SuperNova. Although I am not a particular fan of the pump action, I got it as a birthday present. I used it pheasant hunting, Duck hunting, Shooting trap, and shooting slugs at the range. I have to admit, I like it. It is smooth, swings well, and the new recoil suppression system works well. It also comes with a Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder Chokes. Price wise, it is on par with the Remington 1187 of Mossberg 500.

When do you start shed hunting? When do deer typically start dropping their antlers?

in addition to the usual list of benefits(yardage estimate, pressure shooting etc), 3-D has helped me to locate shot placement at different angles and shooting locations. I have had shots through/into trees, shooting from the knees, etc.

I know this question has been asked before, but I never saw the answer. In NY, and broadhead whose point extends below a 90 degree angle to where it screws into the arrow is considered "barbed". Would this mean that the Rage Broadheads are illegal? I have seen them for sale in the stores, but I have also heard of people being told by DEC that they ARE considered barbed. Anyone know for sure?

It all depends on the angle of the blades. They cannot expand backwards, which would act as a barb. Bur I agree, that if they are considered illegal, they should not be sold in NY. I could see someone filing lawsuit agaisnt the store that sold them.

2 evening hunts (about 2hrs each) and 1 day hunt (about 6 hrs) have not seen anything except squirrels

I would except Long Island doesn't have a season yet. I have seen tons of tracks and some BIG turkeys out here. I have heard that we are going to get season soon. I have heard as late as 2010.

I recommend trying a couple out in the store before you choose. I made the mistake of getting one without sitting in it first, and found that I was too tall to be able to shott from inside. They make those things for little people.

Is it the same for getting sponsored by different companies like Hoyt, Copper John, etc. How do you get on Pro staff there?

Here on Long Island, season starts Oct 1 and goes through Dec 31st. I have a couple of new locations I am interested in trying out.
