http://www.kentuckyhunting.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2145&d=1161558538 Not sure about the story but it was taken in the same county I hunt in. One heck of a 8pt for sure!

Re: He\'s a baby but...... *(Pic)* Congrats, it's a fine looking buck.

Re: how fast of winds will you hunt in I killed one a couple weeks ago in 25mph+ winds. I was on the ground though. If they are moving it's harder for them to tell where a scent is coming from.

Re: Pellets with #11 Cap? It might be something you just have to figure out for yourself. My dad has a Knight and it wont set the charge off at all with caps when using the pellets. I guess some guns have different attitudes!

Re: You won $83 million ........... Buy the company I work for and fire all executives from the top to the bottom. It's not like they have any idea what to do any way.

Re: Central KY Deer Hunting During the 2 day blackpowder hunt this past weekend We saw 12 deer, my dad hunted a different ridge Saturday morning and I hunted alone Sunday. Out of the 12 deer, 6 of them were small bucks. We found well over twenty scrapes that were as clean as they could be and saw a few rubs. This is the first year that I can recall seeing a scrape line like that this early. I ended up connecting on a 200 plus pound 5pt Sunday morning in heavy wind that had a spike tagging along with it. All of this was in Eastern Ky and it could mean one of two things. 1. It's gonna be a early rut 2. a more dominate buck has put the little guys on the move and they're hustling to establish some turf of their own before the rut kick in.

Re: Public Land Hunting? I've hunted the same area of public land for well over 10 years now. When I first started hunting this area the pressure was pretty bad, if you got there late you had to find the best place you could before daylight and sit there. Then we started being the first hunters in the woods and it worked pretty good unless some other hunters passed you up without even speaking and ended up in the spot that you had hunted all bow season without seeing a soul. Since then, things have slacked off and I'll see two or three other hunters in the woods during rifle season, if that. When I'm going into a spot that I think there might be another hunter I'll blink my light a few times in the direction I'm going and then turn itoff and watch for a flashing light, if there's anyone in there, most of the time they will blink their light back in my direction and I will go to another area.......the main thing is to have a back up stand or blind to hunt out of just incase someone has "your spot"

Re: the can I've had some success with mine and by using the can and a grunt combination.

Re: Muzzleloading Weekend I'm ready to put the bow down for a couple days., good luck to everyone that hits the woods this weekend.

Re: 30 - 30 ?? I hunt with one here in the mountains of east ky and honestly see no need in another rifle. In 25 years of hunting I've taken one shot at a deer in the 100-125 yard range and it's hanging on the wall.

Re: Joining Team Realtree? A lot of good ideas here and I think if serious consideration was given to some of the things posted here it would be a great sucess.

Re: I tagged one this evening!! Congrats on a sucessful hunt!

I've noticed a few of you folks have that you are members of different pro staffs in your signature, I was just wondering how many of you are on one and what role do you play?

Re: Bad luck Those yotes can sure mess up a hunt. Hopefully you'll get another chance.

Re: RIP Pillsbury Doughboy Good one LOL.

Re: Let \'em grow up! I think it depends on the hunter and what they want out of the hunt. I personally enjoy getting out there and hunting. If I do my part and take a trophy, thats great.....If I get meat for the freezer thats great too. I've just never been the type to let the obsession with big antlers take the enjoyment out of hunting. I can understand the point of those of you that have the land to practice QDM, just don't let it take the fun out of what you love to do. Hopefully I've not offended anyone as I have been blasted on a in state forum for saying basically the same thing.

Re: How windy is too windy Thats not bad at all, go for it!

Re: Quiver on or off? I practice with it off so I take it off when I get in the stand.

Re: OHIO MONSTER!!! That's a wall hanger for sure!

Re: Windy Days I'll hunt in my stand in a light wind 10-15 mph, but I got broke from hunting in a stand during heavy wind a few years ago...... I was hanging on for dear life. LOL I have saw a few deer moving in pretty hard wind, but they are always on edge and look like they are almost on their belly crawling through the woods.

***Here is a touchy subject...lets talk about this

Re: ***Here is a touchy subject...lets talk about Very well put folks! I've been hunting for over 25 years and by the grace of God I've only lost one deer, but it still haunts me to this day. I've always said after that, I would much rather miss a deer completly than to make a bad shot on one and never find it. -
Re: Amish schoolhouse shooting [ QUOTE ] Don't need a tall tree and a rope either, cause the guy didn't even have the guts for that. [/ QUOTE ] That's what burns me up, these nuts do stuff like this and then kill themselves like the hopeless cowards they are......Sorry just venting. Prayers are on the way for the families.

Re: What do you do with your camo after a days hunt? If I didn't sweat much I'll hang them out and spray them with a scent eliminator before going in the woods. If it's raining I'll put them in the tote and spray them when I hit the woods.
