  1. Re: What broadhead do you shoot? 100 gr Shockwave mechanicals They've not let me down yet.
  2. Re: deer in area day or night Game cameras are very good at helping you figure it out, and they will have the time on them so you can actually pattern some deer. Not only will you know when they're moving but if you keep it in that area long enough you will be able to tell the best times to hunt that area.
  3. Re: Just a question. Nothing any farther than 35 for me. I honestly think it would be a very bad choice for anyone to try a shot beyond 50 yds.

    buck bombs?

Re: buck bombs? I don't have a lot of faith in them, but they could end up being the next big thing.
  5. Re: Witnessed a fight this evening!!!!!!! That's pretty cool, I've heard them fighting before but never actually seen it. A few years ago during our early blackpowder season I watched a bigger buck run two 4pts out of his territory, It was a little out of muzzleloader range so I just watched with the binos. It was like he had a gun on them, kinda funny.......they were in front of him and would stop every few yards and then he would lower his head like he was getting ready to charge and they would move on a little further.......I ended up getting him "the bigger one" in rifle season.
  6. Re: first broadhead you used? Some kind of Bear Broadheads I think, or maybe Magnus. It's been so long I can't remember.
  7. Re: I interviewed \"The Buckmaster\" read it! That's pretty cool, thanks for sharing the interview.
  8. Re: Hello all fourm members I've not been here long myself, but the folks sure make you feel like family! Welcome!!!!
  9. Re: Lord Willing.......I am leaving Sunday! Be careful, they've had some pretty bad flooding in parts of western, central and north central Kentucky.
  10. Re: Is hunting still \"HUNTING\"? Very good question! I'm kinda in the middle on this subject, I'll use some things and pass on others, I guess it all still boils down to being in the right place at the right time and being able to make the shot.
  11. Re: Dead Down Wind I just ordered the field spray from Cabela's.......I figured it was worth a try.
  12. Re: Need Advise I say go for it, sounds like you already have a good reputation and would have plenty of work.
  13. Re: Whats your plan of attack? I'm hunting in the acorns pretty hard right now, the place I'm hunting has no pressure at all and I'm just hunting the main food source........as the season rolls on I'll shift my attention more towards where the does are hanging out.

    almost....

Re: almost.... That would be my luck, I'd say you made the right choice though.
  15. Re: Lord Willing.......I am leaving Sunday! Good luck to ya! Last weather report I saw was looking good for the first part of next week.
  16. Re: Here\'s my bow!(photos) Nice bow, hope you bag a big one with it!

    Bigfoot LOL

http://mikehanback.blogs.com/bigbuckzone/2006/09/breaking_news_b.html Looks like somebody has figured out how to keep people out of their stand.
  18. Re: buck snort gel I used it a few times, but didn't have any results with it.
  19. Re: What do you look forward too most this season? Hopefully getting to spend another deer season hunting with my dad......... He's been my best hunting buddy for 25 years and that's what I look forward to the most. Heck, if I tag out I'll go sit in a stand somewhere while he's hunting just in case he needs some help... I'm sure he would do the same for me.

    Acorns????

Re: Acorns???? Sounds like the place to be. I've got a stand in a spot that sounds similar to that, I was in there late Sunday evening and the acorns were falling like rain........plenty of sign but no deer......... But I bet there will be!!!
  21. Re: First deer ever *pics* Thats a good one for sure.......Congrats!!!!
  22. Re: scent question I'll do any little thing to try and get the upper hand. If I use something one time and see that it works I'll continue using it...........I too hunted before the scent elimanation age set in and I honestly believe that using every precaution, scent free laundry detergent, shampoo, soaps and sprays plus the dozens of other items I've never tried, will increase a hunter's chances of getting a deer withinin shooting range.
  23. Re: how many tags you get for hunting One antlered and one antlerless on the permits here in Ky, but you can buy bonus doe permits.
  24. After sitting through some hot temps the first three weeks of bow season we're supposed to get some cooler temps here in the bluegrass state, and I gotta work!!!!! Hopefully they'll hang around until this weekend when I can hunt, and the deer will be moving a little more.
  25. Re: Any little tips or tricks we can offer new hunters After making a shot always give it some time before you start trailing a deer....I know it's hard if you think you've made a good shot, but it is much better to wait awhile.
