Re: Pellets with #11 Cap?

Guess I am a bit of an oddball when it comes to caps. I prefer standard percussion caps on my black diamond. Can easily get the caps on or off with my fingers if or when I have to very quickly. The 209 primers, they will not come off when time to put another one on with out using the capper, at least not on my gun. The capper I have for the #11 caps is also easier to get the caps in under my scope as well.
The remington hotter caps they came out with about 4 or 5 years ago are pretty good, and while they may not be as hot as a shotgun primer, so long as you keep the breech and nipple clean, you should not have any problems. I have never had a misfire or any hesitations with ignition whatsoever with them in my black diamond.
Having shot both, I have seen no difference in my groups with my setup from one to the other.

same for me.. i shot 209 out of my TC black diamond until it broke on me in the middle of the season.. so a switched to the caps and didn't loose anything. I do think the 209 puts off a lot more fire and would probably be better in wet/humid conditions. but if you keep the gun clean and dry... no major difference..
