Re: Decoy positioning help needed! I agree totally. I have had the best luck with the doe decoy facing away. You also want to make sure it is positioned to give deer entering the field a good view of it. I try to position it so as deer enter the field they see the side of the decoy. Also make sure if using a buck decoy it is not bigger than the deer in your area. I used to have this problem in my area, so I cut down the rack on the decoy. I had better luck with it after that. Mostly I use a doe decoy, this works well for both bucks and does.

Just like to say Hi to everyone. I have been a reader for some time. I have learned some good information and ideas from everyone and hope I can give some back to all of you. A little background on me. I have been hunting since the age of 12 and bowhunting since 13 (I am 34 now). I live in West Central Wisconsin. I have been quite successful over the years harvesting whitetails with both bow and gun. But as you all know some years are just better than others. My Father and I hunt for the meat, but if a good buck is around I try to put forth the best effort possible to harvest him.
