Re: New to Forums Thanks, I live in Holmen and hunt near the North Bend/Melrose area.
  2. Re: Decoy positioning help needed! I agree totally. I have had the best luck with the doe decoy facing away. You also want to make sure it is positioned to give deer entering the field a good view of it. I try to position it so as deer enter the field they see the side of the decoy. Also make sure if using a buck decoy it is not bigger than the deer in your area. I used to have this problem in my area, so I cut down the rack on the decoy. I had better luck with it after that. Mostly I use a doe decoy, this works well for both bucks and does.

Just like to say Hi to everyone. I have been a reader for some time. I have learned some good information and ideas from everyone and hope I can give some back to all of you. A little background on me. I have been hunting since the age of 12 and bowhunting since 13 (I am 34 now). I live in West Central Wisconsin. I have been quite successful over the years harvesting whitetails with both bow and gun. But as you all know some years are just better than others. My Father and I hunt for the meat, but if a good buck is around I try to put forth the best effort possible to harvest him. Hope to help and be helped with all the knowledge that all of us have gained over the years. Thanks again to all of you.
