  1. Good choice on firearms there bud! I can honestly say that my wife is my favorite shooting partner as well!
  2. Congrats on the deer. Sorry that I haven't been on here much, been too busy with work and the family. I'm going to get back out with the bow for the late season. Things were so busy with work I had to skip the gun season and muzzleloader season. I'd rather hunt with a bow anyways. There is a "holiday" firearms season, so I may hit that up as well....
  3. Congrats on all the deer! Rhino, have a great trip and be safe. I'm leaving in a few minutes for my last hunt until the day after Thanksgiving. Between my wife getting in a car wreck and all the "fun" that work is, that'll be the next day I can get out....Luckily, my wife is okay now and told me to go get another for the freezer.
  4. Redo Here is the requested redo of the photos of my first bowkill. Its a doe for Team 5, Treestand Snipers. bluelund79
  5. Headed out to a new place tomorrow. Hoping to add to the total from there. The deer really are moving around out by me. Saw 1 doe and 1 buck out of range-darn 50# max limb bows! 45 yards is just too far for that bow to be ethical in my opinion.
  6. 1st archery killl Team 5, Treestand Snipers bluelund79 adult doe, WI archery 1st Archery Kill!
  7. Got my first bowkill this morning. A nice, big doe. I'll post the nice field pics when I get them from my buddy. I've only got the back of the truck pics since I'm not allowed to lift her by myself, and those just don't do justice to her. 31 yards broadside, hit the heart, far lung and broke the off shoulder. She made it less than 20 yards! I'm pumped and finally got the first bowkill out of my system after 2 yeards of trying.
  8. Pre-Rut is kicking in hard right now. I'm off from the 30th of Oct through the 7th of Nov. All chores are done so all I'm going to do is hunt the different places I have permission at! Hope everyones elses season is going well!
  9. Fixing to head out in less than 1/2 hour. And I will have the whole first week of November off to hunt, its about to get good. Hopefully I can add to the tally....Wishing everyone else a safe and successful hunt!
  10. I'll be out this weekend. The weather should get back to normal temps at least, not to mention its a 4 day gun anterless hunt, so unless I shoot miserably, there will be a scorable deer to enter on Monday....
  11. Had a doe at 13 yards tonight, no shot was offered though....and with my sons birthday tomorrow and wrong wind direction, its gonna have to wait a few days...Hows everyone else doing?
  12. We got a cold front coming in for this weekend. Got my bow broadhead tuned this afternoon-Magnus Stingers and Buzzcuts hitting exactly like my field points out to 40 yards....It go time this weekend...
  13. Now that is one pretty hand cannon! So many toys, so little time and money.....now I want one too....Show some results later!
  14. Congrats on the doe. Hope its an easy recovery tomorrow morning!
  15. I'll be back in the game come Monday. Physical Therapist cleared me, and recemmended to the neurosurgeon to do the same....Its about to early am and late pm hunts and weekends/day's off....Wife already asked me to get one early since the freezer is empty-what a woman!
  16. Pics as promised. Only the 125s are for sale....
  17. The laquer from the Wolf ammo caused it stick....I'd not shoot that ammo from your gun anymore. At least you got it fixed easily! Make sure you clean that thing up real good....
  18. I have a NIP of (3) 125gr Epek Broadheads. Asking $25tyd or trade for 100gr cut on contact heads (Magnus, Razortricks) or 100gr NAP Spitfires. Thanks, Eric
  19. Ouch, that does look like quite the problem, as stated before, those look like healthy hounds, so someone else knows you have hog problems too. Best of luck getting things taken care of....
  20. Straightness does make an importance. However, when buying those with higher tolerances, you can have equal amounts cut off both ends to get the best tolerances. That is how I have all of mine cut since that last dozen when only 4 of 12 spun well. Instead of having a wobble on either end, now there are none. I got a doz Blackhawk Vapor Hunters (.006 tolerance) and cut 1.75" from each end to get a 26.5" shaft. Zero wobble on either end....Try it, it works.
  21. I'd use a true cut on contact head-Magnus Stingers, Slicktrick Razortricks, etc. Thunderheads and Muzzys still have to "punch" through hide, but I'd use those over any mechanical at those DWs and DLs. Good to hear you got the kids out hunting with you! Wish you all a safe and successful 2010.
  22. Good luck all, I did add a new WI deer hunter to the mix, my 6 year is going to tag along while the weather is nice....Ground blinds are definitely gonna get stock piled from now on!
  23. My 6yr old and I set up another ground blind today. It was the opener today, but can't for another 9 days. Waiting to hunt and shoot has been killing me, but I don't want to go through another back surgery! My shooting lanes became shooting highways when he got ahold of the shears, but he had fun and I enjoyed him wanting to help and go hunting....We did have plenty to brush in the bling though! Hope everyone is doing well.
