Thanks for the info. It was interesting. I wrote a research paper on Prion diseases and they are very strange. And Brad, if you think the research into CWD is a joke, and a waste of money you are entitled to your opinion. But realize CWD is extremely similar and equally mysterious as many other prion disease that not only affect wildlife but domestic animals and humans. These types of diseases are rare in humans, therefore the ability to study the disease if difficult. However, in wildlife they are much more common, and can be studied more readily. If money spent on researching CWD can protect our natural resources, and also protect people then I think it is worth it.

I have hunted Leah and Emmit a couple times when I was in college in Maryville. I saw one good buck real early one morning on the north end. I didn't get out there too much too look around enough. It looked like a great place, as far as public land goes. I talked to a guy that lives around there and he said that the closer to the rut you get the more people there will be, but there is a lot of land there. He also said there is a lot of deer (it is Missouri, that is a gimme), but not a lot of big ones. I had a feeling that he wasn't being totally honest thought. I would definately recommend it if you have time to scout it and hunt it. There is a lot of land. I can't say about Elam bend, never been there. Good luck. let me know how it goes.

I am a beginner and that is all I have. Just one dozen of them. No luck yet, but I like them. If you get the rubber band weight attatchments they wrap fine around the keel. Because they are small it is easier for someone hunting alone to pack them in.

Good idea. I have processed one of mine by myself. But it is always good to see different ideas. I will probably still take mine to a butcher, due to my allergy to deer. I am still looking for a way to control that better.

I just wanted to say good luck to everyone going out in the morning. I will be at work tomorrow, but my mind will be in the treestand. The weather is amazing around here right now, definately makes me antsy to get out. Everyone hunt safe and have fun!

All I have to say is that you still have to watch the wind, and pray to God that the Mack Daddy buck isn't carrying around a black-light on his head.

I went out the Cabelas this weekend to see some of their waterfowl seminars. The first one I saw was Danny Farmer speaking about problems training dogs. It was pretty good since I am in the middle of training my first Lab. I was hoping he would have a dog there though. I also was at one with a bunch of professionls that were just giving any kind of tips and asking questions. I won a goose call. I guess I will be forced to try goose hunting now too. I wanted to go to another one, but my wife called me and said the dog got out. He had lifted the gate to the backyard off of its hinges. I thought he was pretty well secured. Overall the day was pretty fun. Anytime I get to go to cabelas it is fun.

My wife and I are want to plan a trip to Europe (after we are debt free:)). Has anyone been there? What is the best way to visit? Cruise, train, one destination, mulitiple destinations? We are kind of looking at Denmark right now. It seems to be a place that not too many people go, unlike Spain or Italy.

good luck with finding a job in college. It is great that you are going to work through school. It is so much nicer to graduate college and not have any school loans. My wife didn't have any. I have some, and thanks to Dave Ramsey's financial Peace University, which we went through. We will have it gone in March. Doing a Budget really helped us see how much money we were actually had each month, and let us tell it where to go.

I wish him the best, and all the prayers.

What do you think people would pay for dog sitting?

I wrote a post a while back about dave ramsey's financial plan, and getting out of debt. Well we are really trying to knock out our debt, so does anyone have any ideas of some extra ways to make a little cash. Legal of course. I want to have our debt payed off by our 1-year aniversary. Any good extra job ideas?

I talked to my brother today, who works the conservation department in Nebraska. He was he has been seeing a lot of ducks at the waterfowl management areas in the south central part of the state. He didn't say what they all were but he said he has seen some mallards and redheads.

whats going on at cabelas? Is it the archery weekend?

Hey I was just wondering if anyone has seen any teal migrating yet. I figure it is probably a tad early but the season here opens in less than a month. With the weahter like it is now all ducks are probably making their way to the arctic. If I had wings, I would. Where are people seeing them right now?

Great buck! What is that on his head? It looks like some kind of sore, with flies on it maybe.
-
The camo rims make them look dirty. Like it has been muddin, but not.

Do you have to buy a new car? Because if you do you lose everything you saved plus some when you drive it off the lot. You have to keep in mind that the "plans" are still advertising schemes. You are better off paying cash for a 4 year old.

It looks like a blast! Was it pretty cool up there? Temperature wise.
-
Impressive. They are the longest on his head. Why is the picture gray?

Take a look at Delorme's new GPS. It is called Earthmate I think. I have never used a GPS, but I was looking at this one and it seems pretty neat and not too expensive. It can layer aerial photos, topos, and satallite images. But I don't know the first thing about GPS.

I can't figure out what fuse is for the horn, all I have is the 2001 owners manual. What does the horn look like? I don't think I see it.

I need to have my truck inspected to get it registered, and I don't have a horn. Does anyone know where it is located on my truck, and how do I put in a new one if there isn't one there? I have a 2000 Ford Ranger. Thanks
