Re: Completly new to turkeys! I was the same way about three years ago when i started messing with turkeys. I always crappie fished during the spring and just never bothered with turkeys. I have always been a die hard deer hunter and just didnt believe a turkey would do it for me. Well i set out my first season alone with it trying it out and finally called a big long beard up to fifteen yards gobbling his head off. When that bird was in full strut drumming and dragging his wings in the leaves i finally realized how fun turkey hunting can be. I was like you at first, i just had to see it for myself to believe how exciting it was. And i will just end this by saying well... They got me hook line and sinker now, i love it. Re: Jelly head or Tight wad choke? I have a tightwad and it a really good choke for its price range. It will kill a turkey. A friend of mine has a jelly head and has had good results with it. If you call the bird in to twenty five yards or closer and hold it on him it really dont matter what choke your shooting, cause its meat on the table

Re: How many pope and youngs have you killed 0 for me and i have been bowhunting for 12 years, i have had close calls but have never gotten to come to full draw on one. Had my closest call evr this year on a good looking ten but couldnt do anything as i was hunting on the ground and as he hit my lane the wind swirlded on me and he knew something was not right. Re: Owl locator call? I bought a Hunters Specialtys kit that came with a slate and a owl locater call a couple years back for about fifteen dollars and the owl call sounds great and is as simple as just blowing air through it. It has worked great for me

Re: Mathews Shooters I have been shooting a matthews z-max for years and am just now having to change the string though i probably could have done it last year. If 30 arrows through the bow has caused that kind of ware then i believe something is most definitely wrong and should be replaced under warrenty
