  1. I was wondering what kind of peep you guys use for hunting, I just picked up a G-5 meta peep 5/16". I wanted a peep that let in alot of light because I had trouble seeing through the old peep sometimes in low light. The problem is I'm not as accurate with that big peep.I hate making any changes that sacrifice accuracy but If I can't see a deer at full draw I won't get a shot. I might try the next smaller size and see if it's a "happy medium" letting in enough light but maybe more accurate. Do any of you have similar experience?
  2. I was sharpening broadheads the other day, What do you think! Sept 15 here in NH.
  3. I'll take a typical to go please!
  4. aaawwwwwwooooooooooooooooo. Call me lone wolf!!
  5. Spitfire xp pros. Also NAP razorbacks for fixed heads.
  6. Saturday I went scouting before work (day before the opener),I was going to check one of my fav spots real quick. I jumped out of my truck and started running down the trail that leads to a spot where I can watch this field undetected. I take like two steps and go to jump up on this rock in my way, without thinking that it rained the night before and just maybe that rock might be a little slippery. So upon landing my foot finds no traction, slides off to the side with all my weight behind it.When I heard crunching, cracking and a snap I knew it was broke. After getting back from the hospital(not easy working the clutch with broken leg just above the ankle) and my wife gets home from work, I tell her that Iwas still going out for the opener the next day.Needless to say she let me know how foolish I was(not exact words), and after seeing my leg swell up from my toes to my knee I figured she was right. So here I am on the forums instead of in the woods. I hope to get a cast on tomorrow and hopefully huntin this weekend. We'll see how it goes. Sincerely, I.M. Bummin
  7. I've tried quite afew and my favorite is the Loggy Bayou monarch. It is a great combination of being very light, very sturdy and easy to put up. Although I havent seen them advertised the past year.
  8. Man, it's nice to see green grass again.
  9. I think you need me to take him out of the gene pool for you.
  10. Nothing at all. I prefer to hunt natural food sources like acorns, apples,or beechnuts.Occasionally I'll hunt a field edge or trail leading to a green field. I like the challenge of figuring out what they are eating and when, hopefully it will make me a better hunter. Although I have shot deer over feed called "crunchy 16" and there aint nothing wrong with that.(where legal of course)

  12. The owners of the local archery shop are shooting them 3D this summer and shooting them well.I first thought they were a little ugly with those black limb pockets but they really aren't that bad. Although I haven't shot one, I have'nt seen anything that would stop me from buying one.
  13. Although I have no expirience Elk hunting, I would opt for a very sharp cut on contact fixed blade. You may need the extra toughness on an animal that is 3 or 4 times the size of your average whitetail.IMHO
  14. Try looking for a good guide in Maine. They have alot of bears up there. Not too far for you either.
  15. After you start getting good hard frosts the beets will get sweeter and the deer will really start hitting them.
  16. Hunt the edge of the swamp, with your scent drifting away from the swamp of course. In areas that get pressured swamps can be your best bet.
  17. Nice blaze on the chest in the second pic. That would make a nice mount in a couple years.
