Lotta action this weekend. Congrats on the doe! I just got back from the farm. I was behind a camera all weekend and got some great footage. I'll probably be behind the camera all next weekend, too. I think I found a new addiction.

I don't use any lighted nocks anymore. I used Lumenoks with about a 50% success rate. I even made my own with about the same rate of success. Earlier this year, a doe ran off with my arrow. The arrow was an Easton Axis ($16) tipped with a Rage 2 ($14) nocked with a Lumenok ($11). I put my foot down after that arrow was never found, especially since the Lumenok didn't light up.

The last two weekends have been terribly slow in here in west central IL. Between 3 people hunting, we saw a total of about 10 deer in 6 days. We haven't seen much rub/scraping activity either. We drove all around the property last night at about midnight and saw about 40 deer and a couple shooters moving through the corn and beans. I can't wait until they take those fields down! It's killing us.

Used it once for a 10 hr work shift after a sleepless night. It worked for me for a little while. Odd that this post is in a hunting equipment room!

Sheesh. That's a monster. It sounds like all the corn is still up by you too? Our farm is really gonna open up a lot when the corn comes down. We put up our stands with the idea of the corn being down when we hunt them. This corn coming down will get em moving soon!

The Summit I bought about 3 years ago had that. At first I didn't know what the heck it was. It sat in a box in my basement for a while.

We have a blind or two set up around the farm. I think being in a tree definitely gives you an advantage. You're out of the deer's normal line of sight. If you have to go with a blind, be sure you're able to bowhunt out of it! A lot of blinds on the market are made with the gun hunter in mind. Be sure there is ample room to draw your bow and the windows are big enough for your arrow to clear.

Oh I can't wait to get on here and continuously remind you of that spectacular showing of skill and dedication. The umpiring was absolutely horrendous last night, by the way. I didn't know it was possible to suck and blow at the same time. Then, Mclelland or whatever the heck his name is released a statement of explanation. That was even more confusing than his bonehead call!!!! Serious question here. Did he get a call right all game?
