i shot the truth 2 over the weekend before grabbing the browning myst but in the truth's defense it shot extremely well and if i hadn't liked the browning better i would have gotten it.
-
ok im gonna throw my two cents in also. imho save your money and invest in some geometry lessons thats what i did. i honestly can't remember the websight i read a few years ago but in a nutshell it goes like this: depending on how flat your setup is this may differ alittle. ok i hang my stand at 15 feet with a 25 35 45 pin set, so a rough 25 yard shot at 15 feet up is roughly the same as 10 yard level shot putting your 25 yard pin dead center. the same thing applies for my 35 and 45, they will be like taking a 25 and 35 yard level shot with those pins dead center. this has worked for me for years maybe you can have some luck with it but it might need some adjusting depending on your setup

oh yeah nice one congrats man. it sure beat my little button i killed back in october. just to say it again congrats

my first bow was a high country something or the other, come to think about it, i actually found out it was a high country about four years later when the paint that was on it started flaking off
-
this year is the first year i go turkey hunting with a bow and i can't wait cause i heard the success rate was nearly nothing and i like those odds.
-
this time of year is a good time to try out all the bows you like but might not have been able to afford six months ago, cause i got an awsome deal on a browning myst (like almost 250 dollars saved) so my advice is to shop around cause now is the time when you get the deals.
-
thanks for for clearing that up. i will take the bow to the shop and have them adjust it. thanx

if the deer goes more than 100yds i made a crappy shot, so if i don't recover the deer (which has only happened once thank god) i would chalk that one up as a miss. but what if you recover the deer like maybe three weeks later during gun season? but thats another story
-
yeah i agree with you guys cause is there anyone who looks away after they shoot, shoot no i wanna see the whole deal i think they are holdin out the best parts cause theres been times when they do show the whole hunt i get excited like i was the one with that big ol buck in my sights and i enjoy it cause it pumps me up for the up coming season
-
thanxs man that would be great if you could find that link cause like i posted earlier i don't have anyone to help me alighn the peep cause my wife thinks i am goin to release the string on accident or somethin, also i was snoopin around cabelas.com yesturday and saw a "no peep required" sight i was seein if anyone have see this sight or possibly used it and if it is worth shellin out that much money ($100.00)

ok my question is. the bow i just purchesed is a browning myst, and the fella at the pro shop said that this bow was set to have a 65% let off but it will go as far as 80% or 85% can't remember exactly. will having the higher let off allow me to hold at full draw or is it the other way around cause where i hunt is so thick that i can only make a few good lanes out to about 45yds +/- without clearcutting the whole place and i find myself holding at full draw to the point of muscle fatigue and taking a less then acceptable shot by my standerds. so if someone can clear this up for me. also i was also wondering if the higher let off would hurt the bows performance any. thanx in advance for any help cause i really want this bow set up perfectly.

well i like all of your ideas i think i'll try them out this weekend, and i'll let yall know about the progress
-
i guess seein the tube felt to akward or somethin
-
the fella at the pro shop said that it might be better for me but while they were setting my bow up i tried his setup out cause he has the rubber tube on his and i can't really aquire the sights that well with it on there
-
ok ladys and gents i got a question that sounds stupid cause i have bowhunted the better part of my life. but never use the sightpins before. well i just got a new bow over the weekend and i figured i would try the sight pins on this bow cause this bow is a little more difficult to aim. Now my question is with the peep sight, it keeps twisting on me and i can't aim it for nothin right now, the guy at the pro shop said that i would need someone to twist the peep around until the sting sets in to the peep being there, does anyone have a way to line the peep up by ones self. if anyone has a way please help me out.

theives are the mud under my boots IMO, i have a hang on stand on the property i hunt and i just take my climbing sticks with me when in go hunting, if they can get my stand down being it is about 20 to 25 feet up the tree without the sticks then they must really want it. and besides stands start at like 50 bucks i mean come on.

realtree AP, that good or coincidence

well last year i went with mossy oak and was not pleased with it at all (hope the goodwill can sell it lol) so this year since i am a hunter on a budgit i went with the realtree hardwoods cause it was on sale. and can't be more happy with it. i downed a six pointer this past sunday from im bettin 11ft give or take 2 inches. i can't belive these patters work they way they do it just blows my mind. but i still have my scent blocker shirt in the mossy oak pattern cause the wife likes it. -
yeah o shot one this year by mistake, i couldn't tell if it was a button buck or a doe, after finding the animal and relizing that it was a button i kick myself in the pants for doing it but i didn't lose any sleep either. but like i said it was a mistake but if it had any spots on it he woulda walked. but hey it did make for some good jeeky and stew.

well i go through that same thing while deer and turkey hunting amd something i found that works 10 out of 10 times is to tuck my non shooting elbow into my side which steadies my aim alot, put the cross hairs or iron sights whichever you use on the target, and squeeze the trigger at the top of your inhale or the bottom of your exhale cause thats when body is more relaxed. this might work for you cause it has yet to fail me.

Look what i saw while deer hunting!!!!

its not everyday you get to see something like that. great pics -
i posted the pictures in the photo post if yall wnat take a peek the picture i took of my brother's deer is alot better than the one he took of mine though
-
well sorry if you were alittle confused by the post as it was a confusing day for us you might be right cause i think i spooked a doe on my way to check on my brother so you are more than likely right. just never had that happen before.
-
Oh man that is so awsome. we have a big problem with that here in ky. a guy i work with is a self proclaimed poacher and spotlighter, so i turned him in to the game wardens and they had actually been lookin for him for awhile it turns out. Now I don't like being a snitch and all but agree with me or not but sometimes like this one is the right thing to do in my opinion. So again great job on getting those guys busted.

Ok this is gonna be a long post but I never heard of this happening before maybe someone else has. Ok sunday was the second day of gun season for us in KY. Well about 0645 my brother and i get into our spots before daybreak. So I'm sittin there with my head on a swivel waiting for a deer to show up. Well one did show up, right in front of me about 15 yards in front of me, right across the creek I'm sitting in front of. just like alot of hunters I start freaking out but i stayed still as a statue I mean I couldn't hear the deer walking across the creek cause my heart thumping so loud. he walks within 10 or 11 feet of me at one point and to think that was the only time i could get my rifle ready cause there was a little grapevine thicket to my right so that was good. AS the buck came into a clearing i took the shot, and he trots away like i missed and i actually thought that i had missed cause i couldn't find a trail to save my life. Well while i am looking for a blood trail for about two minutes after i shot then i hear my brother shoot, and my first thought was that he shot my deer, cause my other brother did that last year (lol). Well i finally found my deer cause it went back across the creek about twenty yards and bought a parking ticket ( i love saying that). Anyhow after looking at my deer i go down to see what my brother shot at and to my surprise he shot his first deer ( a real good sized nine point) two minutes after me which was unheard of to me cause i figured that the buck would have ran away at sound of my shot cause it isn't that quiet (.50 cal mag blackpowder) so thats the wild story of this deer season One alright six point with a messed up lookin rack, and a really nice nine point. If anyone can explain why this happened it would be great to know why cause it got me baffled. Sorry about the long post.
