I'll have to agree. I wouldn't even look at a job for $7 an hour, unless maybe if it was extra temp work to save up a few extra bucks. That being said, I will and have done hard work for little pay. If I agree to do a job, I follow through on it.

After close to a decade in the army, I learned to take my naps when I get them, and rack out hard whenever I get the chance. Sometimes this habit leads me to go to bed after supper, and not wake up until morning....

Who will dare to post their high school graduating picture??!

I never bought my highschool year-book or Graduation photos. Too poor at the time... -
I notice the new grater operators often knock them down when plowing snow, and they end up buried for the winter.... I used to take the snow-mobile trail signs as a kid, but that was because they ran the trail through my property without permission. Then down the road in the front, and every single resident on the road didn't want the trail comming down there when there is a major highway one mile over they can travel along. And I disagree that I should be forced to pay some private organization, on top of my registration fees, to take my registered and legal snowmobile into public property. If they want to volunteer to groom the trails, thats thier business. I'd be just as happy if they didn't.

I used to raise Chickens and Turkeys. I found the turkeys too stupid to survive, often choking to death on thier own food or drowning in thier water... I started off with Ducks. Got a male and female malard, but they never hatched eggs. I traded them for Laying hens, and thats what I had going for a few years. Turned them all into soup eventualy, and got the turkeys. After a year of turkey headaches, I went to bantams. Don't think I'll be going into it again anytime soon. Something tells me my neighbours will be PO'd at me if I had a bunch of roosters making a racket at 5am...

I tried leaving mine in. They ended up breaking at the gum line, with two of them. I got them pulled out on two different days during the goose season. It wasn't so bad.

My point exactly. There ain't a piece of land out there I can't find a personal use for, or rent to someone who does have a use for it.... Besides, Its the one thing you can keep handing down through the family, and even if it doesn't make you your million, it will be a great help to your children and grandchildren.

I think for the most part, they know what they're doing. For obvious reasons, a Texas Whitetail hunter isn't going to be an expert Yukon Moose hunter in the timeframe they have to hunt, so guides are enlisted. On a side note, I often pondered starting up an Outdoors for the Average Joe type show. Fishing on a budget (no 20k bass boats. No 10k fly in trips. Just what your discount tin can and pickup truck can get you too). Hunting from the eyes of the average hunter. No guides, no leases, no highfence. Just whatever happens when you buy the over the counter tag, or the odd draw. Filmed on public lands, or property you actualy get permission to hunt....

The snow is melting fast here. I've seen bare patches alread. But I'm not fooled. I fell for this before, and its just a trick. Winter will kick back hard one last time yet....

I kind of figured they're a waste of money to...Never got them as a kid due to lack of money, never felt the need to get them now. They're all going to rot out eventualy, and my dentures will be nice a straight

As much land as I can get my money on, and I do...

Technicaly, I'm still grandfathered for another year, since I'm born before 84. But I went online a little while ago, to take a test to prove to some pencil-neck that I can do something I've already been doing for about 20 years...

I have at least one cup of coffee in the morning, before I go to work, and one more in a travel mug to take along. I drink the home made stuff, straight up. I'm also luckey enough to have a girl who, despitethe fact she is not being a coffee drinker, gets up before me and puts a fresh pot on every morning...Otherwise, I'd be in the poor house buying coffee's every morning.

Alot of people reluctant to stalk into a bedding ground I see...

I just put a 1/4' peep on my bow after the tech sold me on the idea that my groupings would go down...They went up, and I'm about ready to rip the thing off...

Well, in theroy you can catch any species on a fly rod, not just trout... However, my spincast seems to serve me better.

If thats all your problems, your luckey. I remember in junior high, I took all of my shop teachers snap-on wrenches, and welded them together, end to end, in size from largest to smallest....

I have a similar problem...I can't seem to convince my Fiancee that an African safari would be a great honeymoon....

I've got them reloaded, now what do I do with them?
Dubie replied to johnf's topic in Rifles & Accessories
There will be some difference, but your first load should put you in the ball-park. -
Well, I'd go with the 7mm myself. Almost every deer I shoot with it drops belly up, and is done, and the ones that do run, don't run very far. I'm sure you'll notice much the same with the 270 WSM. If you don't reload, however, 7mm Rem Mag ammo is everywhere, and not to pricey.

Same thing I did when I just started. My second box of bullets were nosler partitions, the first box some Giant box of Hornady's. You'll get the hang of it quick enough. Just be careful about it. -
I think there is something to be said for bullet diameter here. This year alone, I shot a buck with my .50 cal black-powder, and another buck with my 7mm Rem Mag. The 7mm deer took it behind the front sholder, through one lung, the top of the ouside lung, and out the neck. It was a pretty good shot, yet the deer still made it a good 50 yards into the bush, with no blood trail to speak of. My theory was, since it was such a close shot, the little bullet wizzed through faster then it could expand, producing the unusual result. Now compare that to the muzzle loader deer, who took a nossler through both lungs broadside at 200+ yards. The deer died about 6 feet back from where I shot it (tumbled into the ditch). When I got there, it looked like a murder scene there was so much blood. If I did have to trail him, it would be like following a highway. Oh, and that word was Hydrostatic Shock. Its dammage isn't always visible, but it can be devistating on the hollow organs. Its the reason your deer lungs probably look like a cavity full of blood with pink flecks in it rather then lungs with a .30 inch hole through them.

Well, then you shouldn't have to worry too much about 1/10th of a grain all that much. I do good going by the half grain. Now, if I were you (being careful to watch for pressure signs), I'd see which of your loads works best, then run off a batch. Practice with them, see if they realy do consistanly keep a good group. If your happy, you got your hunting round. Well, at least until you decide to try the latest and greatest bullet on the market again...
