  1. Wow! what else can you say. awsome sheds, thanks for sharing. I have followed all season and am just amazed. I am at eleven for the year with two matched sets and two dead bucks. I usually find about twenty sheds a year but with more and more folks feeding deer through the winter I find less and less each year as they winter on small private lots next to large piles of corn.
  2. Great looking deer. Congratulations. My wife would never let me put my mount on the couch for display. LOL

Well, that's a sad way for a buck to see the end. With all the coyotes, traffic, hunters, poachers, and mother nature all working against a buck, it's why so few of them reach maturity and trophy size. I'm glad you found him, at least you will be able to enjoy him.
  11. Great find. You don't see long g4 tines like that very often.
  12. Another nice shed, you got your shed finding mojo working this week.

  15. Congratulations to your daughter on her matched set. That's fabulous. All sheds are a treasure to find and to hold. It will bring back great memories for her each time she looks at them. Great job taking her out, now you have a shed partner for life. And yes they are the hardest to find.
  16. Thanks Todd, they look great. That's a dandy five point shed.
  17. Keep looking, it's only a matter of time before you find a shed.

Thanks for all the great advice. This will be my first guided hunt. I am looking forward to this October.
  21. I have a hunt book with Hadley Creek for October 1rst. Has anyone hunted with them and what can you share. I am not naive, I understand that the success rate is 20% for bow hunters and there is more to a great hunt than just killing a buck. I will not be disappointed if I am unsuccessful harvesting a buck as long as the guides work for my success. One question I have is do the guides expect a tip? How much would you tip for a successful hunt and how much if you were unsuccessful ? What have you tipped a guide ? Thanks,
  22. He is fast. I agree with dbHunterNY the deer has to be warm to pull the hide off that fast and easy. Usually I wait a couple hours if cool enough, track, field dress, drag, transport and then hang my deer. By that time the carcass has cooled and skinning takes a little longer than that.
  23. Wow, a lot of really great advice Deershed. I learned a trick or two from you. Your last sentence sums it up.... " Walk, walk, and walk some more ".
  24. Great find, I have never found a hanger in the 150 sheds I have found. Very cool.
