    Big Bucks

Wow, those are both stud bucks. Good luck hunting this year.
  2. A miss is a tough thing to talk about. A few years ago I sent an arrow through a big buck and I blamed it on the " dead space " in the deer. However today I am humble enough to admit that he shook me up real bad and I hurried the shot and it was high. That big buck lived and two years later I am still hunting him. I am not sure if it was pride or denial that made me blame the anatomy. The truth hurts sometimes. I am also human.
  3. I would like to shoot a couple does for the freezer. If I shoot a buck points and score really don't matter as long as he is mature. But as you know predicting a mature buck is like predicting what Brett Farve will do.
  4. Well said Dan. I own two labs right now and they will fit your needs very well. Jim
  5. The fever is why I became a bow hunter Heavy Metal. Now all I hunt with is a bow. Try it, a bow may just be your cure.
  6. NAW is only reporting the story as it happened, Don't shoot the messenger. Unless of coarse you shoot at them through a frosted window. LOL Seriously, though this kill at any cost is not the type of message hunters want to send out in print. However we don't want them to fabricate any part of the story either. Great buck, tough story to tell.
  7. Muggs, you make a few good points. He is still better than T-Jack though, but who isn't? If they didn't brake your heart, they wouldn't be the Vikings.

    Greeny here

There are lots of great states out there with plenty of oppurtunity. I would pick somewhere near friends and family. You will always enjoy hunting more with people you can share your experiences with. You can always travel to other states to hunt, but family and friends will be there for you to laugh, love and lend a hand.
  9. Brett is a great quarterback, I always hated when he played against the Vikings. However he is better than any quarterback we have and would help us a lot. When he went to NY I always thought he should of retired and kept his legacy in Green Bay. But now that he is considering Minnesota I am glad he wants to play again. We will hopefully know in two weeks.
  10. I check mine every two weeks in the summer. once a week in October and every couple of days in November. I do wear rubber boots and I try to keep my scent and movement to a minimum. I also check my cameras at midday to try to avoid bumping deer. Kimwipes work great for keeping scent off of the cameras also.
  11. Large nasty nontypical. Giant mass, lots of long points and great dark color.
  12. The new cuddeback capture is a great camera at an affordible price. It takes great pictures and is real simple to use. I own six cameras and it is my favorite.
  13. He looks great on the wall. Congratulations

    Good 4

I agree with Randy, short brows but still a stud. I say low 140's

  16. Great looking bucks. I'd take either one.
  17. Nice buck. Why a head shot? I'm not being critical just wondering.
  18. East Bethel bowhunter checking in. Welcome to the forum. Jim
  19. Congratulations on your 500th shed, that is a great milestone. You have put in a lot of miles to reach that number and it shows your passion for shed hunting. Great photo's of this last season, lots of nice looking dandy sheds.
  20. Thanks for the advice on late season beans.
  21. They do seem a little more at ease right now. Deer will tolerate you some at this time of the year as if they can tell it's not hunting season yet. I can't explain it but I notice it.
  22. I agree with Joe, Longer right now but as November nears a week max at any location. However, I try to be as careful as I can moving cameras around. I use rubber boots and keep my scent and movement to a minimum. I also never set them in or near a bedding area.
  23. That bucks a stud. Looks like he has great mass. I like him. Great picture.
  24. Awsome looking buck. He should grow a little more yet this year. Add another 30 inches and you have yourself a giant.
