I think a deer sould be scored at gross of what he grows. This is why and its not just for my deer but i will use it. It gross scores 174" 13 point but if i take it and get it net scored they will score it as a 8 point and will be some where around 145 - 150. Now can that deer control how his horns will grow? All i know is it makes my book and gross scores 174".

I dont shot bucks in the neck messes up the mount.:D:D But i would take a shot at 150 - 200 yds if i had at least a sticky note size kill zone. It's not bragging if you know your gun and can hit what you are shoting at. Killed a buck ones at 125yds chasing a doe. Just dont take the shot if you dont think you can make a good kill shot but if you know when you shot that you are right there you wont even think about taking a shot like that.

I felt they way in bow season this year and was the first time i have ever missed the 1st day. It was hot working on the house alot not seeing anything so i didnt bow hunt but 3 or 4 times and now that seasons over I hate that i didnt hunt every day. Back to not seeing anything killed a 174" 13 point 1st day of gun season that was running in the same place i was bow hunting would that had been nice to got with a bow but in stead i was not in my stand much. So if you have hunted much in your life dont give up the day you take off might be the day he comes by. It will be over to some for ya and the big cats will be flopping.:D:D:D
