  1. Thanks Al, I never should have posted that recovery video. LOL
  2. Perhaps the hospitals could provide then with mechanical ventilators so they wouldn't have to work to breathe either? LOL William, I've had several JW come to my house but never a woman. All have been guys 20-30 years old. I have no idea why that is.
  3. IL has a draw system too. Each season lasts 5 days and a resident can buy multiple 5 day season tags at 15 each. In KY a nonresident can but a turkey tag OTC for 75.00 / take two birds and the season is 3 weeks long. I stopped hunting turkey in iL years ago. Planning to try KY this spring. More convenient and doesn't cost much more.
  4. In my 44 years I've attended Christian Schools, been to many Bible studies and Church services. I've read the Bible through - most more then twice so I'm familiar with the passages and positions in your link Martin. I used to be pretty hard nosed about things. I made a huge mistake and married in my 20's to an EVIL woman. I didn't know it then. However, after many years I went to Christian counseling and stayed married a lot longer than I should have because I didn't want to go against the scriptures. The woman is not a Christian though she claimed to be. Anyway, things got so bad that finally SHE divorced me. I went along with it. Was it a sin? Perhaps. However, looking back - I should not have waited that long to divorce and more so - I should not have married her in the first place. While I'm not Catholic, they got it right about attending counseling sessions PRIOR to getting married. My divorce equated to me not being so hard nosed about things. In addition I read "The Shack". I eased up a bit more after reading this book and started focusing more on the message of love and forgiveness through Christ's sacrifice. Anyway, I learned that it's easy to point the finger about things when we haven't gone through them ourselves. Once we do it may lead to a different level of understanding - at least it did for me. Like I said - I still struggle with where to draw the line sometimes - but continue to ask GOD to reveal His will to me and the ability to accept it.
  5. As a Christian I struggle with where to draw the line sometimes. Not working on the Sabbath has never been a realistic consideration - for years I worked as a RN and had to care for the sick on Sundays. However, I do wonder about The passages men interpret to mean women shouldn't be pastors / priests. There are also scriptures on divorce and marriage that men interpret one way that I have grown (through experience) to disagree with. There are some passages that no matter how I read it - it comes out one way and one way only. Paul in Romans Chapter 1 speaks about homosexuality as being a sin. Yea, I'm bringing the taboo subject up. The current social move is to accept homosexuality as evidenced by the move toward same sex marriage. Many Christians I know simply state that that chapter was written wrong, or ignore it all together. I respond by asking them - if God is all powerful and wants us to live according to His will - why would he allow us to have a guidebook that was not guiding us toward his will? I mean - He is God, and desires us to serve Him. Last I checked he doesn't speak to us out loud, but rather through the Bible. So I ask them - how are we to live according to His will if its been written wrong or interpreted in error. I believe we must strive to be close to God and the truth within the scriptures will be revealed - even when it may not be what we want. Anyway, as William stated - I don't condemn people for their interpretation as it is not my job - God has made that much clear in the scriptures.

Best guess... 130 next season as 4.5 year old - maybe 140 as a 5.5 year old.
  7. Ha! yea, they sure do XT. I agree - a better title would have been 12 pointer writes the script. Hopefully I'll get a chance to make that correction next season!
  8. Back in 1989 I was 18 and in basic training and went to the tattoo place to have an eagle with a US Army banner in his talons. The guy didn't have the design I wanted so the plan was to go back the next weekend to a different place that had a better selection. The next weekend came and things came up and we didn't go. I never did get that tattoo. Would have went on my right shoulder. I would not have regretted it. Your work looks well done. Those designs are certainly unique.
  9. My season is over. Last 3 trips out I didn't even see a deer. I did take out a raccoon last night. Way too many - I counted 7 in one trail can picture a couple weeks ago. Going to get my first coon pelt. Was nice to end the season with some blood in the truck bed - even if it was coon blood. Been a great year and I too was glad to share it with everyone.
  10. William probably has the same one I have. Mine comes with a shoulder sling as its too big and heavy for one hand. I've used it twice in 10 years. One time I found a shot doe in a field about 100 yards from where I was looking - it really puts the light out there. A second time I did not find a buck I shot with it. After 30 minutes the light went dead so I stopped the search and went back the next morning. Never did find it. Mine came with a car charger as well.
  11. I have the large yellow cyclops rechargeable - I get 30 minutes.
  12. That's too bad. I love my TenPoint. The new stealth would be my pick.

I try to get to the Climbing gym twice every week.
  14. Don't forget us little people as you rise to celebrity status Lewis!
  15. Ha! That's a lot of venison for you and more beans for them. Sounds like it all worked out. Nice job.
  16. Prior to reading ANY responses I wrote down 135 Gross (thought 140 at first but it appears there isn't much to the brow tines). Given this is a TN buck I put him at 4.5 years. In IL I would have gave put him at 3.5 years.
  17. I'm busy checking trail cams and seeing what made it through before the antlers are gone Tim. I'm also making a video of my season and most years I hold an annual "depression" dinner in February for my hunting friends. We generally have an archery contest (weather permitting) deer chili, and share hunting stories from the past year. I'll also be attending the Deer expo in late Feb. That gets me into March when it's time to start shed hunting in my area and planning the April Turkey hunt.
  18. I hunt with the 300 Rem Ultra Mag. It's good for deer in the light loads, black bear and elk in mid-load and grizzly in high load. The ammo is not easy to find. Generally I go to cabelas to get it. If I was to buy a 338 if get the win mag.

Looks like a great place to unwind. Funny you have a "Hall of Fame Room". Prior to 2006 I did not have a buck on the wall that scored over 100 inches. My cousin (and kids) made fun of me by calling my back room with the mounts the "Wall of Shame". Now in 2015 I have eight mounts scoring 120-170 inches with most in my front room. A couple years ago I asked him what he thought of my "Wall of Shame". He laughed and upgraded my front room to the "Hall of Fame".
  20. Looked for several hours and - no deer. She never bedded and after 250 yards got the bleeding to stop. Grid searched for hours and covered a lot of ground until it became apparent that she wasn't going to be found. I hate shooting and not recovering - bummed me out. Not the way I wanted to end the season that's for sure.
  21. Shot a mature doe with the crossbow. Think I got one lung as there were bubble spots on the bolt vanes. Trailed the blood for 200 yards then it started specking. Stopped the search and will look in the AM. Cold tonight - teens so the meat will be fine (froze actually). Keep your fingers crossed! Sure hope I recover her.

    new one on me

I agree with Al on this one. Might be someone that had been missing a lot and then dropped a couple in one shot (something like that). The only bird that might get me as shook up as that 12 point this year would be a blue gobbler! Pretty rare from what I hear (1 in 100 million or something). THANK YOU JESUS!
  24. Looks like blue lobsters are News worthy! Petty cool. http://abcnews.go.com/US/lobsters-/story?id=25109571
  25. How long do lobsters live? Might have got a fish to bit on eBay. However, if I ever shoot a 200 inch buck he's going on the wall - not eBay. Congratulations
