  1. Leupold VX III would be my choice. good luck
  2. I used to live in AL and I hunted GA and AL for deer and hogs with 25/06. I used 100 grain corelokts. the blood trail wasnt the best but they never went more than 20 yds so who needs a blood trail. good luck on your hunt. brian
  3. Looks good for what you had to work with. I really liked the coon in the back ground. I got to get one like that. bruse

  7. Got this guy last weekend. He came to the call in around 5 mins. Surprised me it was that fast. 1 shot with a 22-250bruse
  8. I have both but prefer the detachable mag. My 25/06 and 30/06 have the detachable mag and my 7 mag has a hinged floor plate. It is a bdl model and I saw a conversion kit at cableas for model 700's. It seems good and I may try it but since I don't use the gun much I may pass. The main reason I don't use it is the detachable mag on my others make it easier to pick. bruse

Nice one, I just moved to KS and hope to see one like that next season. bruse
  10. I would go with a Traditons Pursuit. I have a pro and a lite. They both shoot well an are easy to maintain. Good luck bruse
  11. Congrats thanks for sharing the nice pics. bruse
  12. I would just sight in dead on at 100 yards then try closer and farther off targets for practice. A deer is never just 100yards away. good luck bruse
  13. I got a prey master for $99 bucks. It worked really good for several seasons. The only thing I dont like about it is the cord for the speaker stays tangled up. I am saving for a fox pro fx3. I would go with a cordless model but they do cost more. bruse
  14. Dicks Sporting Goods should have some on cleareance soon. MY buddy in PA just got one. bruse

  17. Nice deer....there is a spot down at Indian Creek I hunt in Summers and Monroe County that I am trying to get my dad and uncle to hunt. I know the back forty isn't hunted hard if at all since most people hunt close to the road. Congrats on the great buck bruse

  22. When I first started I setup the same for each. I would hide good and set put the caller. I have called in alot of cats and yotes. They say cats come slower but the largest cat I killed was 40lb and he came in in less than 5 min. They appear out of nowhere and its just plain since you never know what is going to show up. I noticed when the birds start flying around that something is really close. I missed a nice bobcat once as I was watching the black birds. Good luck and stay with it. bruse
  23. Not sure of the site but I can tell you this. I was told look at the ears. Look at his legs. That is not true. A little bear will have little ears and they all appear to be on the side of their heads, They all look the same. When I was on my bear hunt I saw a good bear the first day and never picked up the gun cause I was didn't know if it was a good bear or not. I watched him so long I could decide. The best way I know is to have something to compare him to like a large rock or stump. Good luck but I will keep looking bruse
  24. I went on a great hunt in Maine. Where are you located maybe you can get one there. Bears are really silent when walking. I never heard the bear I got. I watched him walk in to 30 yards and he never made a sound. They are really shy and like thick cover. I can get you contact info if you want. bruse
