Would be a good excuse to get a 45/70. If you shot the horandy rounds you might get a longer shot out of it. I have a break open muzzle loader but a new 45/70 would be hard to beat. Happy hunting

I did almost the same a few years ago. I traded a 710 for a Dan wesson 44mag. The wesson has a 10in target barrell. I told they guy I only paid 300 for the rifle but he said he wanted something he could hunt with. We were both happy in the end.

I have 2 of them and love both of them. I get really good groups at 100 yards. I have shot 2 deer with mine and they didn't go far. Happy hunting.

Take her. I took my wife and she loved it. She even started buying her own guns. The best part was when she went with me and 4 buddies on a hunt one day. She was the only one to get one that day and boy did she rub it in. It was a small 4pt but omg she talked trash to all of us. we still laugh about even if it was 5 years ago.
Change your mounts the see thru are nothing but trouble. When you shoulder your rifle you should be able to see through your scope without moving your head. With a good scope you will have no problem up close, in brush, or weather.
I bought a 710 when I first saw them some years ago. I wanted a rifle with a box mag and was never really happy so I traded it and bought a 700 mtn rifle. I would save for a 700 and scope or look around at pawn shops and check local papers for a better deal.
I am looking to have a rifle camoed. I want a finish that will last a while. I am considering a duracoat finish. Any thoughts. Shipping the firearm is my only concern. I plan to have the rifle scope and mounts all done. Any ideas on who is the best.
Thanks,
