  1. It is now Saturday afternoon and I have made it back to Portland. I left tacoma this morning around 7 and headed out to the coast. Spent all day out there walking the beach, eatin lunch and taking some pics. I also have a new list of lessons learned from today. 1. The Pacific ocean is cold! 2. People will look at you funny if you decide to swim in the cold water. 3. When you get out of the water, the 60 degree air temp does NOT warm you up! 4. People will point and laugh if you somehow get in the middle of a hot rod parade in an 09 impala. 5. HitchHikers on the Oregon coast are pretty nice people. 6. HitchHikers become very frustrated when you take them 2 miles down the road and make a left when they wanted to keep going straight. But they like to walk and got 2 free miles. 7. Seagulls eat dead Seagulls on the beach. 8. Do not honk your horn in a tunnel when there are bike riders inside the tunnel that you were not aware of. 9. I can still use a map to navigate! The stupid rental doesnt have a single cig plug that works for the GPS. 10. I have concluded once again that I am ready to be in my own bed! Now on to some pics from today..... Anybody remember "The Goonies"? Yeah, it was filmed here.
  2. I used to drink 2-3 cans of Dr. Pepper a day about 5 years ago. One day I decided, I am done, and since then I have had not one soft drink. I drink around 2 gallons of water a day (which I am addicted to) and the occasional beer. Just force yourself to drink water when you want Dew. After about 3 days of no soft drinks I was fine with it and had zero cravings.
  3. what is out there....New pics of the last Frontier that will never be discovered in our life times. Butterfly Emerges from Stellar Demise in Planetary Nebula NGC 6302 This celestial object looks like a delicate butterfly. But it is far from serene. What resemble dainty butterfly wings are actually roiling cauldrons of gas heated to more than 36,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The gas is tearing across space at more than 600,000 miles an hour -- fast enough to travel from Earth to the moon in 24 minutes! A dying star that was once about five times the mass of the Sun is at the center of this fury. It has ejected its envelope of gases and is now unleashing a stream of ultraviolet radiation that is making the cast-off material glow. This object is an example of a planetary nebula, so-named because many of them have a round appearance resembling that of a planet when viewed through a small telescope.
  4. Heck, we will just cut some windows in it and head to Texas and hunt out of the dang thing.
  5. I figure I will pick this up sometime early next year. Once it's mine, I will drive around the country and I guess canada to pick up some RealTree Folks and we will all go hunt somewhere. Figure in the trailer we can put roughly 10 bunk beds and some recliners and not have to worry about camping or hotels. Somebody pick a place to hunt!!!!
  6. Sure am. They bought me 5 boxes of 3.5 Steel BB"s and two boxes of 270 rounds today.:clown:
  7. Time for another update... This will be my last night in Tacoma Washington. I am so ready to get out of here. This city is Huge, its pretty much an extension of Seatle. I worked at the office here till about 2 when I decided I had had enough and needed to get out. I remembered seeing a Cabelas about 30 minutes before I got into town so I decided to go and find it. It ended up being in Lacey, WA, which is between Olympia and Tacoma. Here are some pics from the store and also one of the Mt Rainier overlooking Tacoma.... I have also learned some things while on this trip, here is a list... 1. I will take my 92 yota anyday over a 08 chevy impala! 2. I will never buy I rental car that I have driven. 3. If you are ever in Washington and happen to meet a flight attendant from South Carolina, DO NOT TELL HER YOU ARE ALSO FROM SOUTH CAROLINA! This was a huge mistake, she is/was psycho!!! 4. Do not leave any hotel room keys on the bar where you are eating dinner. Refer to lesson #3. 5. Never trust a hotel Iron. 6. Always bring yours from home(which I did for back-up) 7. Do not have your phone turned up as loud as it goes when you ringer is Ducks while in Cabelas!!! 8. Do not try and feed only one seagull. 9. Do not say a word to the bell boys, they will take that as a invite to talk your head off for hours! 10. Do not say yes to the question, "Would you like a key to the bar in your room" Saturday (tomorrow) morning I will be heading out of Tacoma and going to Cannon Beach for the day and ending up back in Portland till Wednesday night when I can finally go home. I am so ready to be back in Richland!
  8. Ignition is to be wheel lock, matchlock, flintlock, or percussion using original style percussion caps that fit on the nipple and are exposed to the weather. "Exposed to the weather" means the percussion cap or the frizzen must be visible and not capable of being enclosed by an integral part of the weapon proper. Primers designed to be used in modern cartridges are not legal. With this, I am assuming a T/C encore/Prohunter is illegal as well as 209 primers?

    Lest we forget

"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve." "The real differences around the world today are not between Jews and Arabs; Protestants and Catholics; Muslims, Croats, and Serbs. The real differences are between those who embrace peace and those who would destroy it; between those who look to the future and those who cling to the past; between those who open their arms and those who are determined to clench their fists."

Will be back down there for a week over christmas duck and deer hunting on the black river and down in Santee. As far as the corn and deer down in Georgetown, I have had deer eat out of out piles/feeders all year long down there.
