  1. Yup, that's where i first saw it too. Amazing play
  2. Lol Yup as of right now i feel good. I'll be taking another pain killer here in about 45 mins as i'm supposed to. I've just been relaxing on the couch and taking it easy. Your lucky you got to keep your "wisdom". i advised the doctor and nurses that if they knew me, they'd probably want to think twice about removing any kind of "wisdom" from my body lol
  3. Agreed. It was probably a decision they both made and agreed upon.
  4. O jeez! That must've hurt. It hurts whenever you get a "dorito dagger" into the roof of your mouth, let alone in the incision from having a tooth taken out. You truly are a man's man! :boxing: :gunsmilie:
  5. Hahaha that would've been a fun trick to play on someone who didn't know about the operation. I had gauze in my mouth for quite some time. I remember the first two pieces they pulled out were covered in blood. Then about an hour later i pulled out the second pieces that were somewhat bloody but not bad. Hopefully they're done bleeding but if not i'll try to scare the crap out of a friend of mine
  6. Don't worry about it. I was kinda nervous too just cuz i didn't know what to expect but its painless. They gave me laughing gas before (but i don't think i got any effect of it, i almost think it wasn't turned on lol) and then they slip the IV needle in which was the most painless needle slip i've ever had. Next thing you know your up and stumbling around with the nurse to the recovery room where your ride home is waiting. That's exactly the way mine was. My tongue, teeth, and the front of my mouth and chin were all numb. I could've probably bit my tongue in half and not even felt it. And ya,i can't believe how painless it was and why i stressed over it for so long. Hahaha nope i feel back to my normal self now. Just watching a little Jim Shockey. Can't wait to lay low all weekend and just watch movies and tv and live off a diet of milkshakes. It's supposed to rain now through Sunday so it was a good time to have the procedure. The only time that i can remember myself doing something weird while still drugged up was when i tried to lay down on the recovery bed backwards. I think i remember the nurse telling me to turn around and kind of laughing at me.
  7. I've been thinking about enlisting after i'm done with college next year and that's what i've heard a lot of people say. It's way easier to join if you don't have a family starting or any ties to someone back home. That's why it would be a good time for me to join cuz i don't have a girlfriend or anybody else that i would have to be away from for long periods of time. That being said, i still feel bad for this poor guy who's about to lose his bow. If i came home and heard my girlfriend or wife sold my bow, i'd turn right around and put a for sale sign on her. Somebody should buy this man's bow and return it to him when he comes back. It's the least we could do to thank him for what he's doing for this great country of ours.
  8. Just got back and feel fine. I can honestly say i had fun having it done too. Now-a-days they put you under, which was a first for me, and it was actually a fun experience! I remember waking up (kind of) and just thinking, "I kinda want to do that agaian!". Right now i'm trying to put all the pieces together and remember what all happened before and after the procedure. Just thought i'd share that all with you guys.
  9. I wasn't to impressed with it but i'm gonna keep watching it. I can't base my opinion of the whole series off the first episode. I thought they jumped around too fast without explaining things, or maybe i wasn't paying good enough attention.

    Barking Dogs

Peta would thank you for doing their job
  11. I posted a thread here a while back about Marcus and if it was mine that you read i'm glad i got you interested! I just started the book a few weeks ago but have been moved deeply by what he has to say. It has to be one of the most powerful stories of heroism and patriotism i've ever heard. You won't be disappointed
  12. Welcome to the forums! My mom's name is Marie.
  13. "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell. I'm reading it right now and cant put it down. It's the true story of a team of Navy SEALs that went into the hindu kush mountains in Afghanistan in 2005 to take out a high value target and the author, Marcus, was the only one to survive. It's probably the greatest story you'll ever read.

    ACM Awards

my thoughts exactly. all these country music awards do now days is piss me off. the songs that are winning awards are terrible and there's so many good artists that go unheard that should be winning awards for coming out with great songs. Like Joey+Rory and Gloriana and a bunch of others. I'm sick of hearing Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift everytime i turn on the radio

    Hurt Locker

ya it wasn't as action packed as i thought it would be. i'm glad it won best picture though, as long as it wasn't Avatar!
  16. Nope. Didn't even know it was on. Is it boxing or mma?
  17. Other than shows on the Outdoor Channel, I always watch The Ultimate Fighter on Wednesdays and i stay up every night to watch re-runs of Whose Line Is It Anyway? at 11 and 11:30 on ABC Family. There's a bunch of other shows i like to watch but right now those are the only 2 i make sure to watch every week.
  18. I worked for 4 years at a sporting clays range and every year we had a shoot much like the one you are talking about. They called the Courage Shoot since it benefited Courage Duluth (Duluth, MN) and it was probably the largest event they had the whole year and numbers keep climbing. And every year, since about 2 yrs ago, the local news would come out and do a story on it, and yes the reporter would always take a few shots on the skeet range and you could just hear a loud cheer everytime he hit one. They also came out for a side x side shoot we had one summer to do another story and the sports reporter, a very good-looking woman, was hitting clays left and right and enjoying it. So i guess the local news in Duluth here has a very strong connection with outdoorsman in the area, which is absolutely fantastic in this day and age.
  19. sounds good guys! i'll take a look at those tomorrow when i have time. and thanks for pulling up those links
  20. For our final project in my Comp II class, we have to write an argumentative paper on a topic that we feel passionate about and can take a stance on either for or against. Naturally, i decided to choose hunting as my topic and i'm arguing why hunting has a place in society today, but might have to narrow it down to hunting in the U.S. if my instructor says it's too broad. I want to address certain issues like common misconceptions of hunters (particularly how they are portrayed by some groups and to clear any stereotypes of blood-thirsty, unethical old men running through the woods killing everything in sight- although i know there are some out there like that). I also want to bring up exactly how much time and money hunters give to conservational efforts, how much money they bring into local economies, and other ways in which they do good (for instance: Catch A Dream). And for fun, i'll do a little PETA bashing and throw out some numbers from the HSUS to really open up the class's eyes to show who is really helping the animals. What i need some help with though is finding good sources of information or articles that will boost my arguments. I already know i can find loads of it on the NRA and SCI websites, as well as Ducks Unlimited and other conservation groups when i want to point out the time and money that hunters give to conservation each year. But if you guys know of any good articles or books i could get my hands on let me know! I'm justs starting my research now and the written paper is due April 27th, with the oral presentations beginning the 29th. Thanks for anything you can give me!
  21. thats exactly what i've been hearing! i'm glad you posted that
  22. Ya i definitely can't complain about the weather we've had this spring! We haven't had an inch of snow, the average temp from this March has been in the 50's, and the high today was pushing 70; making it the 2nd warmest March that our part of MN has ever seen. I've heard tho that any warming that is occurring is because of solar flares that are coming farther off the sun's surface than in the past, and other things that are accumulating to make this supposed global warming trend, not human carbon emissions. But then again i've heard a lot of things and how many of those things are true? Probably less than half
  23. I've been hearing stuff recently about global warming being a hoax. Has anyone else heard this? They're not exactly saying that the global temperature hasn't risen, but that the whole idea of humans contributing to it is all a hoax (ex: carbon dioxide emissions). Some people believe that its being used as a tool to put oil companies out of business and push environmentalist agendas. Others are even saying that its an excuse for the government to tax factories for their CO2 emissions. This thread would probably be better suited for the politics page, but i figured i'd post it here since this page gets more traffic.
  24. Was that the same Lake of the Woods that borders MN? My grandparents have had a lakehome up there at one of the resorts ever since my mom was a kid. I've never heard of any sturgeon coming out of it tho, just monster walleyes and northerns.
